There's no shortage of massive SEC matchups in Week 9, and our college football anytime touchdown scorer predictions are focusing on four games in the conference where it just means more.
My college football picks are backing John Mateer to return to Heisman form against Ole Miss, Ty Simpson's most reliable playmaker to find the end zone, and a pair of tight ends suiting up for underdogs in top 25 matchups, as part of our college football predictions for Week 9.

💰 Best Week 9 anytime touchdown scorer bets
Here are my favorite anytime touchdown scorer bets picks based on the best college football odds for Week 9.
🔥 John Mateer (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Prior to his thumb injury against Auburn, Mateer was the Heisman Trophy odds favorite. And while he struggled in his return in the Red River Rivalry loss to Texas, just 17 days after his thumb injury, he looked more like his old self last week in a win against South Carolina. Oklahoma's offense will need him to be a bell cow on the ground again to take down Ole Miss.
Although Mateer hasn't scored in his two games since returning to the field, he still carried the ball a combined 22 times in the games against Texas and South Carolina. With his usage as a runner being key to Ben Arbuckle's offense, I expect the Sooners' star to be leaned on in the run game against an Ole Miss defense that's No. 125 in EPA per rush and allows the second-most rushing yards per game in the SEC (166.7).
With Mateer having scored in four of six games this season, his odds to find the end zone against the Rebels are as short as -160 at our other best college football betting sites, implying a 61.54% probability he'll score. But at this price, a $10 bet pays an $8.70 profit.
🔥 Germie Bernard (+110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
While Alabama QB Ty Simpson is deserving of all the praise for his play, which now has him in the No. 1 pick conversation for the 2026 NFL Draft, he's not the only potential first-round pick on this Crimson Tide offense. Simpson's favorite target, Germie Bernard, has been one of the most consistent playmakers in college football this season, and Kalen DeBoer and Ryan Grubb have even begun involving him in the run game.
Bernard, who ranks top 10 in the SEC in YAC (231), leads Alabama in yards from scrimmage (543) and touchdowns this season, with five through the air and one on the ground. Simpson has the second-highest NFL QB rating in the SEC (143.9) when targeting Bernard (min. 30 targets), so don't expect him to shy away from utilizing his most trusted playmaker against a South Carolina defense that's No. 68 in EPA per pass.
With Simpson being the best QB in the SEC, and Bernard scoring six times in his last six games, he's priced as short as -125 to score against the Gamecocks. Those odds imply a 55.56% probability he'll score a TD, but our odds pay an $11 profit on a $10 winning bet if he does find the end zone.
🔥 Brett Norfleet (+270) ⭐⭐⭐
In a game that features big SEC names like Diego Pavia, Ahmad Hardy, Eli Stowers, Sedrick Alexander, and Kevin Coleman Jr. (who I'm backing in my college football player prop bets for Week 9), it's Missouri tight end Brett Norfleet who I think is the best bet to score in this College GameDay matchup. And while Norfleet isn't a household name, he's been Tigers QB Beau Pribula's most reliable target this season.
Pribula has his highest NFL QB rating when throwing to his tight end (122.0), and Norfleet is tied for the second-most TDs for Missouri this season as a result (5). With Vanderbilt's defense likely to be keyed in on slowing Hardy and the ground game down, Norfleet can take advantage of a defense that's No. 113 in EPA per pass and has allowed the most TD passes in the SEC (13).
In Missouri's two biggest games this season, a ranked matchup against Alabama and the Border War (its rivalry game against Kansas), Norfleet totalled 10 receptions for 114 yards and three scores, hitting pay dirt in both games. If Pribula's safety net can score against Vandy, a $10 bet pays a $27 profit.
🔥 Trey'Dez Green (+210) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Arguably, my best bet of Week 8 was taking Trey'Dez Green to score against Vanderbilt at +330, and while his odds to find the end zone are substantially shorter this week against Texas A&M, I still can't believe the value here. Green has been Garrett Nussmeier's go-to playmaker the last two weeks, and it's paid off in a big way for the LSU QB.
Nussmeier had a 100.2 NFL QB rating throwing to his 6-foot-7 playmaker two weeks ago and a 157.6 NFL QB rating last week, so there's no reason to think Green won't continue to see the most targets of LSU's pass catchers against the Aggies. Over the last two weeks, Green has caught 13 of 17 targets for 193 yards and two scores - he's also averaged 49 snaps per game after averaging 33.7 in his previous three games.
With Green having scored at touchdown in all three games that he's seen more than one target in, you'd think our best sports betting sites would price this prop much shorter, especially with Texas A&M having allowed the third-most TD passes in the SEC (11). But I'll happily take advantage of these +210 odds, which pay a $21 profit on a $10 winning bet.
