LSU vs. Houston Player Props for the Texas Bowl | Best Prop Bets & TD Picks

Two of my LSU vs. Houston player props for the Texas Bowl are tied to the fact that more than half of LSU’s defensive starters won’t be in uniform.

My LSU vs. Houston player props for Saturday night’s Texas Bowl in Houston target Cougars quarterback Conner Weigman and a pair of wideouts from each team with the same surname.

No. 21 Houston is a consensus 1.5-point betting favorite in what is a virtual home game (9:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), and my player props for this matchup are part of our college football predictions this week.

Stay ahead this bowl season with our updated college football bowl game odds and schedule.

Connor Weigman Over 204.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

LSU has the nation’s 46th-ranked pass defense. However, six of the Tigers’ defensive starters opted out of the Texas Bowl. Those six players accounted for 162 tackles; five interceptions; 9.5 sacks; and three of the team’s four recovered fumbles.

So even though Houston quarterback Conner Weigman eclipsed 204 passing yards in just five of 12 regular-season games, I expect the junior to pick apart a unit composed mostly of second- and third-stringers. Bet this LSU vs. Houston player prop at bet365, where the -115 odds imply a 53.49% win probability. Risk $10 to win $8.70.

Zavion Thomas Over 39.5 receiving yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐

After a slow start to the season, LSU’s Zavion Thomas racked up 40-plus yards in five of his final eight contests, including three of the last four. In fact, Thomas is the Tigers’ second-leading receiver, with his 473 yards ranking just behind Barion Brown (495).

In the Texas Bowl, Thomas will face a Houston secondary that allowed 21 players to clear 40 receiving yards in the last nine games. Tail this LSU vs. Houston player prop at bet365, with the -115 odds carrying a 53.49% implied win probability. A winning $10 wager will return $8.70.

Amare Thomas score anytime touchdown (-138) ⭐⭐⭐

Houston wideout Amare Thomas enters the Texas Bowl on a four-game scoring streak, with six of his team-high 10 receiving touchdowns coming during this stretch. Going back to Week 6, the UAB transfer has reached the end zone at least once in six of the Cougars’ last eight games.

Yes, LSU has only allowed 10 passing TDs (sixth-fewest in FBS). But again, more than half of the Tigers’ defensive starters will be in street clothes Saturday night. Bet365’s -138 odds on this LSU vs. Houston player prop have a 57.98% implied win probability. Risk $10 to win $7.25.
