Georgia Tech vs. BYU Predictions & Odds | 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl Best Bet & TD Pick

The teams taking the field in "The People's National Championship" this year were both viewed as potential College Football Playoff teams at one point, but my Georgia Tech vs. BYU predictions expect one of the programs to toast the other in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
BYU is a 3.5-point betting favorite for today's 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC) Pop-Tarts Bowl from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., in the 12th bowl game featured in our college football predictions this week.

BYU -3.5 (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Though BYU is without star running back LJ Martin, the Cougars are dealing with far less roster movement than Georgia Tech. BYU has also proven to be one of the best teams in the country ATS, covering in six of its last eight.
🍓 The People's National Championship
The Pop-Tarts Bowl has quickly become the best non-College Football Playoff game of bowl season, for both the on and off the field fun. Not only does the game tend to pit two ranked programs against each other, but no sponsor leans into the zaniness of bowl season like Pop-Tarts.
We ranked every college football bowl game mascot, and unsurprisingly, the edible mascots at the Pop-Tarts Bowl earned the No. 1 spot.
The Pop-Tarts Bowl has also said that this year it will be "delivering its wildest experience yet" and there will be the "biggest sacrifice ever."
The only two times BYU hasn't covered since mid-October were in its losses to Texas Tech, the No. 4 seed in the CFP.
With a defense ranked top 25 by SP+ and an offense capable of exposing Georgia Tech's flimsy defense, the Cougars should be feasting on the edible mascot when the clock hits zero.
Score prediction: BYU 31, Georgia Tech 27

Parker Kingston, WR, BYU: Anytime TD (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Without Martin and no clear backup running back for BYU, I expect Parker Kingston to play a larger role in the run game.
The star slot receiver leads BYU in targets (88), receiving yards (848), and receiving TDs (5), but he's also third on the team in rushing yards (103) and rushing TDs (3).
As Bear Bachmeier's most trusted target, Kingston should see plenty of work against a Georgia Tech defense that's ranked outside the top 50 by SP+.
And with BYU manufacturing him touches in the run game, he's found the end zone nine times in his last nine games, including on a 55-yard punt return.
🐻 Bears like Pop-Tarts, too
Bachmeier is like a fullback playing QB ... he's upwards of 240 pounds and wears No. 47. Without Martin as the lead back, Bachmeier will likely be leaned on even more on the ground. He's scored 11 TDs already this season, and I can't imagine a guy named Bear not thriving on the Pop-Tarts Bowl stage. I like parlaying both him and Kingston to score, with +157 odds at bet365.
