The CFP National Championship is tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., and my first touchdown scorer predictions for Miami vs. Indiana are expecting a pass catcher to find pay dirt first.

With Indiana entering as a 7.5 to 8.5-point betting favorite, the most obvious choice is the Hoosiers leading scorer, but could the unsung hero of their offense beat him to the end zone?

💰 Best Miami vs. Indiana first touchdown scorer pick: Elijah Sarratt, WR, Indiana (+650) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The biggest reason I'm all over the Hoosiers in my Miami vs. Indiana prediction is because of the way their passing attack matches up against a Hurricanes secondary dealing with depth issues. The Canes don't have an outside corner capable of slowing Elijah Sarratt, who has scored 15 times in 13 games

The Hoosiers' leader in TDs is Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza's favorite red zone target, with Sarratt racking up three TDs in two CFP games.

He's also at his best in IU's toughest matchups, scoring eight TDs in the Hoosiers' six biggest games.

Malachi Toney, WR, Miami (+1200) ⭐⭐⭐

If Miami is going to pull off the upset, Carson Beck needs to feed freshman phenom Malachi Toney. He will likely be the focal point of the Canes' offense, having scored six times in his last six games.

Toney's ability after the catch is what makes him special and allows him to turn any touch into a house call. He's top three in the country in both YAC (738) and forced missed tackles on receptions (30).

With Toney being Miami's most dynamic threat, he's among my favorite Miami vs. Indiana anytime touchdown scorer predictions.

Riley Nowakowski, TE, Indiana (+3300) ⭐⭐

Sarratt and Toney are two of the most obvious players to bet on to score first at our best college football betting sites, but one of IU's secret weapons is the best long shot. Tight end Riley Nowakowski plays more snaps than any player with longer than +2000 odds to score first.

He's played the sixth-most snaps on Indiana's offense this season (795), more than any of the Hoosiers' star receivers.

While he's better known for his blocking than his pass catching, Nowakowski's anonymity could help him against a Miami defense whose weakness is its linebacker play.
