Something feels tricky about Notre Dame being less than a touchdown favorite against an Arkansas team coming off two crushing one-score losses. So instead of deliberating over the side, my Notre Dame vs. Arkansas best bet backs the Over in a game featuring two explosive offenses matched up against struggling defenses.
Razorbacks quarterback Taylen Green has totaled 350-plus yards in five consecutive games. He leads all SEC quarterbacks in yards per game (387.8), in large part because he ranks third overall in the conference with 360 rushing yards. Earlier this season, he became the first quarterback in school history to throw for 300 yards and rush for 100 more in a single game.
The last time the Fighting Irish faced an elite dual-threat quarterback like Green, Marcel Reed totaled 397 yards and led Texas A&M to a 41-point outburst against Notre Dame, the most scored against the Fighting Irish since 2019.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame may have found its offensive identity for the rest of the season after bullying Purdue for 258 yards rushing and 6.6 yards per attempt. The Fighting Irish scored touchdowns on all three of their third-quarter possessions, which was impressive against a Purdue defense that had not allowed a second-half touchdown through the first three games.
Notre Dame should now be in line for several big plays against a Razorbacks defense that allowed five explosive plays (plays of 20-plus yards) in last week’s loss to Memphis.

Don’t count on the line ever reaching the key number of seven, though.
Notre Dame has scored 40 or more points in back-to-back games, while Arkansas has averaged 45 points through its first four. It was no surprise that the total is much different than the lookahead line of 58.5 and is already up another three points from the 61.5 that FanDuel opened with on Sunday morning.
This is a line that sharps are likely to get behind if the number balloons even further, especially since the Razorbacks only scored three points in the second half last week. Thus, if the total creeps to 65 or higher, look for respected bettors to drive the number back down, resulting in a total similar to what we are seeing now.
