My Colorado vs. TCU prediction continues our college football predictions for Week 6, with the Horned Frogs a 13.5-point home favorite tonight.

However, my college football picks back the road underdog Buffaloes to keep it close. Kickoff at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, is at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

⬇️ Under 57.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Colorado ranks 103rd in adjusted defensive efficiency per FPI, but four of the Buffaloes' five games have gone below 57.5 total points.

Though TCU’s scoring average of 35.7 PPG will be a threat to this game total, the strengths of the Horned Frog offense (11th nationally in passing yards per game) may not be maximized against a Colorado defense that has been able to manage a top 50 pass defense.

Both teams boast a top 50 scoring defense in FBS, combining to allow just 44.5 points per game.

The game total Under 57.5 comes with -110 odds from several of the best sports betting sites, including BetMGM. The implied probability at those odds is 52.38%, while a winning $10 wager on this pick would profit $9.09.

⬇️ Josh Hoover Under 300.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Many of the statistical demerits against Colorado’s defense come from its 119th-ranked run defense, which allows 197.4 rushing yards per game. Through the air, though, Colorado hasn’t been so bad: its 207.6 passing yards permitted per game rank 49th in FBS.

That’s where we get to my skepticism of Josh Hoover throwing for gaudy numbers on Saturday. Hoover has cleared 300 passing yards twice this season, but it happened against SMU (136th of 136 FBS teams in pass defense) and FCS Abilene Christian. Hoover isn’t much of a runner, so the threat that has typically caused fits for the Colorado defense may not be as applicable in this matchup.

The best odds on Under 300.5 Hoover passing yards comes from FanDuel with -114. The implied probability at those odds is 53.27%. A winning $10 wager on this prop would profit $8.77.
