Karsyn Pupunu, WR, Hawaii (+165) ⭐⭐⭐

Hawaii’s leading receiver, Jackson Harris, entered the transfer portal. His 12 receiving touchdowns will be impossible to replace, but wide second-string wide receiver Pofele Ashlock (-170 anytime TD scorer) listed at short odds, Pupunu is the best value on the board.

Pupunu stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 205 lbs, which are Harris’ exact measurements. Don’t be surprised to see Pupunu line up where Harris did.

Kendrick Raphael, RB, Cal (-320) ⭐⭐

It makes more sense to back Raphael to score two-plus touchdowns (+150) against Hawaii’s base nickel defense. The Rainbow Warriors aren’t bad against the run, but that generally stems from their passing offense forcing other teams to throw. Arizona, one of the two Power 4 teams Hawaii played this year, scored four rushing touchdowns.

Raphael has found pay dirt 13 times this year, with 12 of those scores coming on the ground. His quarterback, Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, isn’t known for his mobility with -135 rushing yards and just three rushing scores. Back Raphael to find paydirt multiple times on Wednesday.

Our Philip Wood targets Raphael to score twice as part of his best Cal vs. Hawaii player props.

Micah Alejado, QB, Hawaii (+600) ⭐⭐

Hawaii doesn’t use its quarterback much as a rusher near the goal line. Alejado has just one rushing score this season, but he has still made positive contributions elsewhere on the field, with 72 rushing yards and a long run of 30.

We’re getting Alejado at the friendly price of +600 (14.3%) at FanDuel, which is a steal for a player we know will have the ball in his hands whenever the Rainbow Warriors get near the goal line. It helps that California has allowed a rushing score to a quarterback in two of its last three games. Our Rob Paul breaks down the entire Hawaii Bowl matchup in his Cal vs. Hawaii predictions, including backing the Rainbow Warriors to win tonight.
