I'm offering my three best BYU vs. Texas Tech player props for Saturday’s Big 12 Championship.
Kickoff is set for noon ET from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with No. 4 Texas Tech favored by 12.5 after beating No. 11 BYU 29-7 earlier this season. I'm targeting LJ Martin, Caleb Douglas, and Reggie Virgil as part of my college football conference championship predictions.

LJ Martin player prop: Under 70.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Martin has rushed for at least 88 yards in his last three games, including 222 against Cincinnati. He has six 100-yard games, and he’s averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Yet, I’m taking his Under on Saturday.
The first time Martin faced Texas Tech, he ran 10 times for just 35 yards. It was his second-lowest total of the season. While some may see the performance as an outlier, Texas Tech ranks first in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, giving up just 68.9 per contest. That’s 10.4 fewer than any other team.
With Texas Tech favored by 12.5, Martin won’t get enough carries to hit this Over against a defense allowing just 2.3 yards per carry. FanDuel’s price implies a 53.27% chance that this Under hits. A $10 bet would profit $8.77.
Caleb Douglas player prop: Over 56.5 receiving yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Douglas recorded just two catches for 12 yards in his first game against BYU. It was his least productive game of the season and one of just two performances with fewer than 20 yards. Though that performance was worrying, it was also his only contest of fewer than 82 yards in his last five games.
Texas Tech ranks ninth in the nation in passing yards, averaging 295.6 per game. Douglas leads the team with 53 receptions and 823 yards, and he's caught at least five passes in four of five games. Despite BYU holding Texas Tech well below the Red Raiders' regular passing yardage in the first meeting, the Cougars are just average against the pass, allowing over 205 yards per game and 11.3 yards per completion.
BetMGM’s price of -115 implies a 53.49% chance that this Over hits. A $10 bet would profit $8.70.
Best BYU vs. Texas Tech touchdown scorer prediction
Reggie Virgil TD pick: Score a touchdown (+170) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Virgil has only scored in one of his last five games, but he’s still second on Texas Tech with six receiving touchdowns. He also proved three weeks ago that he can be productive on the ground, carrying the ball twice for 35 yards and two touchdowns.
Virgil has multiple receptions in each of his games this season, and he led Texas Tech with 54 yards against BYU earlier this year. While the BYU pass defense has only allowed 13 touchdowns this season, Texas Tech has 31 passing touchdowns, which is tied for the third-most in the nation.
FanDuel is offering +170 for what is one of the most valuable BYU vs. Texas Tech player props among the best sports betting sites. The price implies a 37.04% chance that Virgil scores. A $10 bet would profit $17.
