I'm providing my best BYU vs. Texas Tech anytime touchdown scorer predictions ahead of Saturday's Big 12 Championship at noon ET from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (ABC). No. 4 Texas Tech is favored by 12.5 over No. 11 BYU.
Both of these defenses are allowing fewer than 18 points per game, and Texas Tech has the third-best scoring defense in the nation, which is why all of my picks have odds of +170 or higher. I'm rolling with Reggie Virgil, Parker Kingston, and Jojo Phillips as part of my college football conference championship predictions.

Reggie Virgil, WR, Texas Tech (+170) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
When choosing the best BYU vs. Texas Tech player props for the Big 12 Championship, I selected Reggie Virgil as the most valuable anytime touchdown scorer. Virgil has eight total touchdowns this season, including six receiving. He’s caught at least two passes in every game, and he led Texas Tech with 54 yards against BYU in Week 11.
Virgil has only scored in one of his last five games, but he’s scored in five of his 12 games overall. Additionally, he’s the second-leading receiver on the nation’s ninth-ranked passing offense, and he has the second-most touchdown receptions of any player on a team with 31 this season.
FanDuel’s price of +170 implies a 37.04% chance that Virgil scores. A $10 bet would profit $17.
Parker Kingston, WR, BYU (+200) ⭐⭐⭐
Texas Tech has allowed just five rushing touchdowns all season, so any BYU scoring will likely come through the air. BYU only has 14 passing touchdowns this season, and Parker Kingston and Chase Roberts each have five. Though Roberts scored BYU’s lone touchdown in the first meeting with Texas Tech, I’ll take Kingston to score in this contest with both players’ prices nearly identical.
Kingston has been more consistent this season, as he leads BYU with 57 catches and 804 yards. He has at least four catches and 38 yards in 10 consecutive games, and he’s scored in six games, thanks to three rushing touchdowns. BYU is so committed to getting him the ball that he has at least one carry in every game this year.
DraftKings’ price of +200 implies a 33.33% chance that Kingston scores. A $10 bet would pay $20.
Jojo Phillips, WR, BYU (+1100) ⭐⭐
When looking for a long shot for my best BYU vs. Texas Tech anytime touchdown scorer predictions, it’s clear the pick will have to come from BYU, as even Adam Hill, who hasn’t scored a single touchdown for Texas Tech this season, has odds of +285 or shorter to score in this game.
Jojo Phillips hasn’t scored this year either, but he’s also only appeared in five games. After suffering an injury early in the season, he’s played in four consecutive games, catching at least one pass in each. Last week, he tied a season high with three receptions, topping 25 yards for the third time.
Phillips only had one catch for six yards against Texas Tech, but that hasn’t stopped bet365 from setting his touchdown price at +500. FanDuel’s price of +1100, which implies an 8.33% chance he scores, provides much more value, as a $10 bet would profit $110.
