Auburn vs. Oklahoma Prediction, Odds & Picks: Arnold to Struggle as Sooners Dominate

Last Updated: September 20, 2025 5:30 AM EDT • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link

I expect the Sooners to dominate as I make the best Auburn vs. Oklahoma prediction for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC) game at Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla. After opening as 5.5-point favorites, the Sooners are now up to 6.5 or 7 points.
The Sooners to cover as touchdown favorites is one of my best college football picks for Saturday. And while Oklahoma is best known for offensive production, the defense shutting down Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold is one of my favorite college football predictions for Week 4.

🅾️ Oklahoma -7 (-105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Sooners outgained Michigan 408 to 288 earlier this season, a contest during which they held quarterback Bryce Underwood to 142 yards on 9-of-24 passing. I expect a similar result on Saturday.
The Tigers roll with a run-first offense while averaging 242.0 rushing yards per game but only 173.7 pass yards. The Sooners proved they can shut down that style of offense while holding the Wolverines to just 13 points.
Oklahoma is averaging 33.7 points per game, and while I don’t expect the Sooners to get to that number against Auburn’s defense, the Tigers have allowed two lesser teams to score at least 15 against them this year. The Tigers will struggle to score against a defense allowing just 6.3 points per outing, resulting in the Sooners notching a double-digit win.
The price of -105 through bet365 suggests a 51.22% chance that Oklahoma covers. A $10 bet would pay out $9.52.

⬇️ Jackson Arnold Under 175.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Arnold is a dual-threat quarterback who has been more effective with his legs than his arm this season. He threw for just 108 yards during Week 1 while rushing for 137. He also managed only 142 passing yards against South Alabama last week.
That's been the story of Arnold’s career, as he topped 175.5 passing yards just twice last season, and only once across six appearances in 2023. The Sooners are only allowing 84.7 passing yards per game, and they held Michigan to a mere 142 in a clash the Sooners led from start to finish.
BetMGM is offering the highest total for this prop right now, as none of the other best college football betting sites are sitting higher than 171.5. The price of -115 suggests a 53.49% chance Arnold hits this Under. A $10 bet would pay $8.70.

🔍 Auburn vs. Oklahoma odds analysis
The spread for this game opened at 5.5, and with the majority of the betting public backing the Sooners, oddsmakers have moved the number to 7 at most of the best sports betting sites. If the support continues, this number may hit 7.5 before kickoff. While it would be tempting to take Auburn then, I’d still back Oklahoma.
As for the total, the number opened at 48.5 and has dropped to 46.5 despite the public backing the Over. I don’t anticipate it moving much more before game time.

How do college football odds work?
When betting on college football, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -3 must win by more than 3 points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +3 must win outright or lose by fewer than 3 points to cover the spread.
Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
