A heartfelt Instagram post from Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers failed to clarify his future football plans.
"To my teammates, past, and current, you are the icing on the beautiful cake we call our job; football. The friendships that we have will transcend our collective time in this game, and I am so thankful for the role that each of you has played in making my life that much better," Rodgers wrote. "I love you guys and cherish the memories we've made."
Did it Shed Some Light on His Future?
The final picture included in the post was of long-time teammates Davante Adams and Randall Cobb standing for the National Anthem during the 2021 Week 9 game against Kansas City that Rodgers missed.
The space between Adams and Cobb was where Rodgers usually stood.

Of course, there was oodles of discussion surrounding the Week 9 absence, as Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 after choosing to be "immunized" and not vaccinated - his reasoning due to an allergy to an ingredient in the mRNA vaccines created by Pfizer and Moderna.
Retirement is definitely in the realm of possibilities, but he's signed through the end of the 2023 season at a $46.66 million cap hit with $26.8 million in potential dead cap space, so something will probably have to give.
After winning his second consecutive MVP award and the fourth of his career, Rodgers offered the following:
"I don't want to create more questions than I probably already have, but I don't fear retirement. I don't fear moving on. I'm very proud of what I've accomplished, proud that I've accomplished it in Green Bay the last 17 years, and excited about the future, whatever that ends up being or looking like."

Still, the final photo of Adams and Cobb without Rodgers has to mean something, right?
Perhaps, it's a sign he is indeed finished in Green Bay and looking to be traded to another organization.
We'll leave it to the bookmakers to speculate.
