This year’s U.S. Open Championship will be held at The Country Club in Brookline, MA and Rory McIlroy, coming off a win at the RBC Canadian Open, is the favorite.

The U.S. Open has a reputation for being a grueling test of golf, with unforgiving rough and relatively modest winning scores. The last time that the tournament was held at The Country Club in Brookline was 1988, when Curtis Strange won with a score of 6-under par, the same score as the last two winners of the U.S. Open.

This week has the potential for drama, with players from the new LIV Golf Invitational Series, including Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson officially a part of the field. They are not the favorites, however.

Here are the U.S. Open odds via DraftKings SportsbookFanDuel SportsbookCaesars Sportsbook, and BetMGM.

Here are some of the players that are drawing the greatest percentage of the U.S. Open wagers at BetMGM:

Rory McIlroy (+1100)

After winning the RBC Canadian Open, McIlroy has 21 tour victories. He has won four majors, including the 2011 U.S. Open, and has five more Top 10 finishes at the U.S. Open, including each of the past three years. McIlroy is on 5.2% of the tickets, for 5.9% of the handle at BetMGM, both of which are third highest on the board.

Justin Thomas (+1200)

Thomas was in the hunt at the RBC Canadian Open, too, finishing in third. He won two majors in his career and has two Top 10 finishes at the U.S. Open. On 4.5% of the tickets, Thomas is drawing 5.7% of the handle.

Scottie Scheffler (+1400)

Scheffler has earned three PGA wins — including the 2022 Masters — this season and tied for seventh at least year’s U.S. Open. Scheffler’s success this season has made him the betting favorite as he is on 6.6% of the tickets for 9.4% of the handle at BetMGM, both of which are tops in the field.

Jon Rahm (+1400)

Last year’s U.S. Open winner, Rahm has seven PGA wins and tied for third at the U.S. Open in 2019. He is on just 3.1% of the tickets but 4.9% of the handle at BetMGM.

Cameron Smith (+2200)

Although Smith tied for fourth at the U.S. Open in 2015, it has not been a favorable tournament for him since, as his best finish since then was a tie for 38th in 2020. While Smith is on 4.8% of the tickets, his 6.2% of the handle ranks third in the field.

Collin Morikawa (+2800)

Morikawa already has five PGA wins, with two majors, and was tied for fourth at last year’s U.S. Open. He is on 5% of the tickets, for 7.3% of the handle, both of which rank second.
