Sports data technology provider Stats Perform is the first betting data and streaming rights distributor for FIFA, following a multi-year agreement announced on Monday. The deal grants the London-based company exclusive rights to distribute official FIFA betting data and betting-related live streams to some of the best sports betting sites across global markets.

The agreement covers a range of FIFA competitions, including the 2026 men's FIFA World Cup in June and July, the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, which will run from 2026 to 2029. Stats Perform also secured exclusive betting data rights for thousands of matches per season across additional FIFA tournaments delivered through the FIFA+ streaming platform.

Data collection and in-play distribution will be managed by Stats Perform's RunningBall division, which provides low-latency betting data services. Opta, the company's sports data and analytics brand, will act as the exclusive supplier of player statistics, live scores, performance insights, and tracking tools for sportsbook partners using FIFA content.

The 2026 men's World Cup will be staged in Mexico, the US, and Canada. The 2027 Women's World Cup will be staged in Brazil. Both of these regions have experienced a sudden rise in sports betting. This has created a need for official data feeds and sports betting streams.

In addition to the betting data rights, Stats Perform was announced as a distribution rights holder for the distribution of FIFA matches to licensed sportsbooks in certain territories. This provides the exclusive rights to the 2026 & 2027 World Cup matches for sportsbooks to stream.

FIFA reinforces gambling advertising restrictions

This expansion follows a regulatory reminder issued by FIFA to its Member Associations in August regarding the promotion of gambling-related products in connection with match officials. The memo reiterated that advertising for betting companies is prohibited on referee shirts, inside video operation rooms, and in referee review areas, even where other sponsor branding may be permitted.

FIFA clarified that any known agreements between betting firms and referees did not trigger the reminder. Instead, it restated existing regulations governing sponsor visibility during matches and when using video assistant referee technology.

The rules explicitly ban advertising linked to gambling establishments, along with tobacco, alcohol, narcotics, and political or religious messaging.

The memo is centered on FIFA's commitment to govern well, conduct itself in the best possible manner, and maintain the fairness of competitions. The members were asked to conduct their business in a manner that would not lead to any situation that could undermine the public's confidence in the teams that emerge victorious in the matches.

This is particularly significant because the regulations are being revised in all 211 member associations of FIFA, since each country has its own betting regulations
