The Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Mitchell Trubisky have reportedly agreed on a two-year contract, according to a source, NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo tweeted Monday, March 14.

New Giants head coach Brian Daboll was the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, where Trubisky served as the backup quarterback to Josh Allen last season.
Instead, the second overall selection from the 2017 NFL Draft will join the Steelers and presumably take over the No. 1 quarterback job following veteran signal-caller Ben Rothlisberger’s retirement at the end of the 2021 season.

Pittsburgh also has quarterback Mason Rudolph, who the organization selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft on the roster, making ten starts over the past three years.
The Steelers also have quarterback Dwayne Haskins, the 19th overall selection in the 2019 NFL draft. Haskins started 13 games across his two seasons with the Washington Commanders.

However, it’s likely the two-year investment in Trubisky is an indication he’ll be given every opportunity to win the starting quarterback job during the offseason.
Trubisky recorded a 29-21 record over four seasons and 50 starts with the Chicago Bears, and he’ll have the best supporting cast of skill-position players surrounding him in Pittsburgh this year.
