Missouri Riverboat Casino Revenue Increases to $153 Million in November

The Missouri Gaming Commission has released the state's riverboat casino financials for November 2024, showing solid growth.

Access to our best sports betting sites is in the near future for residents of Missouri, but riverboat casinos rule the scene for now.

A new report published by the Missouri Gaming Commission reveals that the state’s thirteen riverboat casinos combined for more than $153 million in revenue in November 2024. That figure marks a 4% increase compared to the same month last year and a 1.4% uptick from October.

The total brings year-to-date revenue above $773.6 million, which is around 1% lower than at the same point last year. From July to November 2023, the casinos generated $781.1 million.

Admissions to the casinos remained pretty stable in November compared to the previous year. Last November, 2,250,275 individuals entered, compared to a slightly higher 2,253,875 in November 2024. Year-to-date, total admissions are down around 3%.

Which casinos contributed the most?

Nine casinos reported a year-over-year increase in revenue, the largest of which was reported by Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville. This casino was the latest to open in the state on November 1, 2024, after Century Casinos moved its operations inland. Last year, the venue operated as a floating facility.

Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville saw a 47% revenue jump to around $5.3 million, while Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau also reported a strong 19% increase. Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City reported the third-largest increase, 11%, up to $16.3 million.

However, Ameristar Casino in St. Charles generated the highest monthly revenue, $23.1 million. River City Casino came in second with $20.9 million, followed by Hollywood Casino St. Louis, which collected $19.4 million.

Bally’s Casino Kansas City saw the most significant drop in revenue of 11%, down from $11.6 million to $10.3 million. Mark Twain Casino, Horseshoe St. Louis, and Hollywood Casino St. Louis were the other three reporting a drop compared to last November.

A breakdown of AGR by game type reveals that electronic gaming devices, or slot machines, contributed close to $127 million or around 83% of the monthly revenue total. Meanwhile, table games collected revenues of $20.6 million and hybrid tables saw $43,064 for the month.
