The US legal sports betting goldrush is showing no signs of slowing down. The latest example of the race by sports betting providers to align with North American professional leagues and their teams is WynnBET, which on Tuesday announced a corporate partnership with MLB's Cincinnati Reds. The agreement is aimed at giving WynnBET more exposure in the successful and growing Indiana scene, even though the Reds are based in Ohio.

WynnBET has not been shy about their desire to become a bigger player within the exploding US legal sports betting scene. They are pointing to "rapid expansion" plans as we head deeper into 2021. Partnering with the Cincinnati Reds is an interesting move for WynnBET, considering that the Reds call Ohio home and sports betting hasn't even gone live in that state yet.

On the surface, it looks like a smart move to tie themselves to an iconic Mid-West team and to take advantage of an established and successful Indiana market. It also looks like a play to get ahead of the impending Ohio market that is on track for a late-summer/early-fall launch.

Details

There isn't much variation in the WynnBET/Reds corporate partnership deal and the slew of other provider/team deals that have flooded the legal sports betting scene the last couple of years. The multi-year deal is expected to be a mutually beneficial one for both parties involved.

WynnBET immediately gets the right to use official Reds marks and logos for use across its online products and will now have a presence in Indiana on all of the Cincinnati Reds' media outlets, which includes TV, radio and internet-based programming.

Included is a co-branding opportunity for both the Reds and WynnBET as both try to increase their exposure as well as increase the overall viewing experience of Reds fans in the Hoosier State. Promotional perks that have come to light already include a chance at Reds game tickets and Reds memorabilia, which will immediately be afforded the MLB teams' users of the WynnBET app in Indiana.

Part of Broader Expansion Plans

WynnBET has been busy this year seeking and signing partnership deals in order to build their brand within the rapidly growing US legal sports betting market. They have seemed to target the mid-west part of the country and are in the process of building their brand recognition in that part of the nation.

Recent partnership deals for WynnBET include the Detroit Pistons, which gave the betting operator a strong presence in the quickly expanding Michigan market and the Memphis Grizzlies which brought WynnBET into the NBA fold and gave them some exposure in the Tennessee scene.

WynnBET has also been aggressive in their pursuit of the NASCAR market. The company is now authorized gaming operator of NASCAR and is “Official Online Sportsbook” of two of its bigger venues, the Martinsville Speedway and Richmond Raceway.

The Race to Align

WynnBET is now a major player in the incredibly competitive race to align with professional sports leagues, teams and even pro sports venues around the US. That race means that more deals similar to the one with the Cincinnati Reds will likely be coming down the pike sooner rather than later.

Currently live in New Jersey, Colorado, Michigan, Virginia, Indiana, and Tennessee, expect WynnBET to continue to expand their reach in the thirsty but competitive US legal sports betting scene.

A move into the Ohio market seems like a logical next step now that they have a relationship with one of that state's most iconic franchises. Beyond that, the sky seems to be the limit for WynnBET, one of the newer Heavyweight for the US legal sports betting industry.
