Berrer takes the 3rd set and is up 2 to 1. Anyone relying on Raonic for a parlay? I STILL think he wins, but I'm shocked he's dropped 2 sets to Berrer. Berrer has no ability at all, especially on clay.

#2358Adding
Roger-Vasselin -120
Not smart to take the French playing in France, is it? Still think Roger-Vasselin has the edge over a decent opponent in Rosol. Both are more comfortable at the Challenger level I think. However, ERV has more main draw Slam experience and that is the edge I hope prevails here.Comment -

#2359Nicky Mugs fukkin' around into a 5th set after being up 2-0. Guy seems to do this in every Slam, make a match more difficult and somehow prevail in 5.Comment -

Nadal is asking for it in the 3rd. This looks like it could be a very tense tie break if he continues along this way.Comment -

As shocking as Nadal's defeat could be, Alamgro's is even more shocking to me. Up 2-0 and Kubot comes back - Kubot who hadn't done a damn thing this year + Almagro who just won a title, perhaps fatigue? But when up 2-0, you close it out. Wow.Comment -

#2372I almost tailed your Roger-Vasselin -120 pick too. Liked that one. Should have gone over I guess.
On another note, do you think it is a bad play to consistently bet the over for matchups hovering around even money? Especially on clay, these matchups always seem to be long and mostly multiple sets.Comment -

#23735th set losers are especially bummerific.
As for the overs. I don't think there's any correlation to the odds as far as it hitting more or less often. I think it's always match-up based as far as which edge you think is better. Look at Giraldo-Andujar today. That was close to a pick 'em and it went under in straight sets. I think it's almost a little bit of a bookmaker trap even perhaps when the odds are close to a toss-up because the natural inclination is to think - oh hey, this is going to be competitive because it's a toss-up in price, this is gonna go over! Baghdatis-Gil another example yesterday of a fairly evenly priced match that went under. I don't know what the # was on Maurer-Sweeting this morning but I know it was close to an evenly priced match and ended at 34 games, probably another under.
If anything there might be more unders than you think although I don't have definitive proof of that over any long period of time. However, if you look at the French Open on both the men's and women's sides so far, I think the Under has cashed at a very solid clip on matches where the odds are close to even. As in -130 or less for the favorite.Comment -

#2380Yeah I felt good about the dogs today. I had Stakhovsky marked too, but decided to take a larger shot on Schoorel because I promised myself I would fade Wawrinka in this round with this sort of match-up.
Hidalgo was another one I considered against Montanes, but decided to pass even though Montanes has done shit-all this year to be considered a bigger favorite.Comment
