Andreev-Gasquet Over 22 [-110]
Soderling-Verdasco Over 22 [-120]
The Lowdown: Andreev has found some form through qualis in Rome and a 1st round win this week against Riba, the same guy he got whipped by last week in Madrid. Gasquet crushed a horribly out-of-form Montanes in the opening round. These guys are very familiar with each other with eight matches all-time against each other. Gasquet beat him on clay in Barcelona last year in 22 games. Andreev doesn't always win on this surface, but he's usually competitive as his results in Rome have shown. Much the same is usually the case with Dicky Gascan. Soderling & Verdasco is an interesting clash right now. Soderling showed a little better last week, but is still clearly trying to get match fit from earlier injuries. Verdasco showed a little life in Estoril with a finals appearance, but is 0-2 since on dirt. He hasn't been beaten soundly in either loss [Lu/DelPo] - so I expect that this will be a competitive match with both guys looking to get on a roll into Roland Garros. Even if one wins in straights, I think it will be tight. Their career meetings on clay have all been entertaining three setters.

Sharapova should win. They just played in Madrid. Think it's all about concentration & serve for Sharapova. She cruised in the two sets she won over Makarova, but was poor in the one she dropped.Comment -

Opinion on Verdasco-Soderling? +200 for Verdasco seems tempting. He hasn't really been that good, even on clay, this year. So, maybe I'll just look the other way.Comment -
Thought about it, but Verdasco drives me batty. I like the Over best in that one. Soderling isn't 100%, I don't think ... so he could drop a set.Comment -
Is it me or is Verdasco the closest top men's player to a female player? He can be so off with the UEs and serves that he plays like a WTA player, capable of losing to anyone at anytime. But then, when he's on, he's whipping players all over the court and nailing winners. Kinda reminds me of Kvitova or Petkovic.Comment -

Wednesday's Points Plays
Troicki +120
Parlay: Lopez + Azarenka [+101]

The Lowdown: Troicki draws Starace. A lot will be on Starace because it's in his home country, but he's not fared that well traditionally at this tournament. Starace is certainly a clay vet who will test Troicki's resolve on a surface that doesn't suit him best. Still, the Serb has proven capable on this surface against guys who lack A+ weaponry. If Troicki can summon up some big shots on this slow surface, he should give himself a chance. Parlaying Lopez + Azarenka. Azarenka is an easy selection for me. Super form right now and up against Errani who she crushed in April on clay. Lopez has surprisingly been in solid form on his least favorite surface. The Flo-donis draws Kohlschreiber who has been average in 2011. He walloped Youzhny in his opener, but the Russian has been lost for a bit now. Lopez won a tight 1st set against Llodra and then wore him out in a 6-1 2nd set. Lopez has the confidence right now and if he starts strong, that should help him through. WTA match for the Over is an easy one for me to like. Two solid players who have done good work on clay. If both are healthy and playing to their capabilities, this one should be a rollercoaster affair with three sets possible and even two sets a shot to get this number done.
