I knew the monopoly money would flow downward sooner or later. I flipped on Lopez to put in Youzhny and Tsonga had an epic choke in the 2nd set to screw the over in that one. Up 5-2, going to go down in the tie break and wind up on 21 games. Oh well, that's tennis. Loverly.

Petzschner looks over valued here at -150 or so. He's obviously done well for two days, but this is not a great surface for him while Starace is pretty solid on it. Petz certainly could continue to win on home soil, but I think Starace as a dog might be worth a shot.

Tough calls. Raonic is going to have to be excellent on his ground strokes against Simon & I think the big thing will be if he holds nerve on break points because he will give some up on clay. Soderling would be an easy call at that price if his health wasn't still a bit of something to make you think. He says he's past his knee and achilles problems ... Del Potro will test that big time. I can see one of them winning, but something tells me not both. I think Raonic will have the tougher time potentially because he hasm't played Vanilla Nice before. That's my new nickname ... didn't know it would work, but the frog was born in Nice & his game is to play that vanilla BS of putting the ball back in play. Yeah boy! Vanilla Nice up in this bitch.

I think the most sensical play based on what I observed today would be Granollers over Volandri. Goddamn, did Volandri play badly. His serve was so pedestrian and breakable. Over 60 errors too. He didn't sniff a quality winner for most of the match. Had he played ANYONE better than Marchenko, he loses. Granollers played an injured Troicki, but he had some really nice dropshots, backhands, and forehands. He also served pretty decently.

Granollers+Verdasco+JMDP+Cuevas. Seems like it could pay, right?

I definitely agree. I loved Petzchner for this match. But then price wise, I started thinking Potito was the play. Both played really well from what I watched. Could have went either way.

I like Petzschner a lot when he is a dog, but he's one of those players who will get a lot of publicity this week for winning ... and don't be surprised if he gets wonked in his next tournament by a complete nobody.

I would love for Raonic to win and play Verdasco in a clay court grudge match. If Raonic managed to beat Verdasco on clay I think he should retire. He has been chomping at the bit to get Raonic on clay and it would be a lot of fun.

Will be interesting. Won't be shocked if Raonic wins. Verdasco still is not playing all that well. I'm expecting much the same as their hard court meetings, three set war. Anderson was probably the best warm-up Verdasco could have hope for in prep of Raonic. Although you can't replicate Raonic's speed & power, Anderson is at least somewhat similar on a lesser scale.

Tough to call. DelPo's serve has been about unbreakable this week. Verdasco maybe is getting better as the week goes along. Would have liked to have seen him have to play a whole match vs. Raonic to get a real handle on his form.
