From Tennis Channel: There will be no main bracket prizing for the 2020 Australian Open Racquet Bracket. Play with your friends in a private pool and check back during Roland Garros for another contest.

So just make sure to enter my contest as you won't win anything for the main one this time so there's no point wasting your time.

Less than two hours left people! Apparently we’re copping massive storms here again in Melbourne so who knows what’ll happen with tourney play and my friggen internet but fingers crossed all stays well! Best of luck with your entries everyone... a friend’s house flooded yesterday so we’re off to go help her out so it’s a quick pick entry for me. Maybe I’ll have better results this time instead of using my own crap picks

Did you post it under a different name maybe? Or just to the main contest? I don't see an entry with username in mine!

I tried to get my entry in and the site kept fuk’in up, crashing and taking forever to load. I was able to sign in, but the site kept tell’in me I had to register, when I’m already fuk’in registered!

I wish we could find a better site to run this from. Just keep the 15 points, Shari. Cheers

Thanks for the Round 1 Update! But I think there may be one mistake: Fognini won first round and the site has him listed as losing.

I was #22 sitewide even with the Fognini loss.

But to be honest, the standings dont really mean shit until the Final 4. The way the point values work, the first 2 rounds are virtually meaningless. All they do are break ties if all favorites make the final 4. I do have Fognini advancing a few rounds.

For instance, I have the favorites Nadal and Joker advancing to the finals. I noticed that quite a few of you took Medvedev to beat Nadal. If that happens then each of you will then beat me because that is worth 20 extra points that I wont have

Mostly true. Just like in March Madness brackets, doing well early means nothing if your later picks are off. Early rounds end up being tiebreaking essentially.

Personally I wish it weren't that way - that it was more evenly distributed. Sure the later rounds should be worth more, but 1 point vs 30 points makes the early rounds too insignificant. Like 1, 2, 3, 4,... for each successive round or something similar would be much more balanced imo.

Yeah just send me your ID and I’ll add it. I’m going to have to score this whole thing manually it seems since they can’t even do that properly this time so I’ll add it to the entries later this afternoon my time

Weird how the mens bracket is so much easier to predict than the womens. I'm doing terrible in the womens bracket but I'm near the top of the standings in the mens. Of course none of this matters if my picks in the later rounds don't do good.

Pretty sure this has always been the case, the scores are higher in the men's - I think because the men hold serve much more often %-wise given they have more powerful serves and thus the results are less random, the favorites win more frequently.

It is because of the serve about 75%. The last 25% would be because they play best of 5 sets rather than best of 3. Watch how many times a guy will lose the first 2 sets and then win 3 in a row. Sometimes the newish players are not used to playing 4 or 5 set matches that happen in majors
