What level would a man have to be at to be able to "strap it up" and compete against the top 50 to top 15 of the WTA?

I'm thinking USTA rating of 5.5??

I don't think one single 5.5 player could take a set off of anyone in the top 50.

There were a bunch of australian juniors that hit up with Sharapova before the australian open last year.

They went on to play a practice set against her. Apparently Brad Mousley, ranked in the 1600s, got rolled by Pova. Luke Saville I think was the second player, ranked in the 200s, and he was smoking Pova so she gave up.
