#5393[PARIS] GIRALDO +115
Giraldo draws de Bakker on the indoor surface in Paris. I said it last week and it appears to be holding that de Bakker is wearing down over the course of a lengthy season. He has lost in the 1st round in three of his last four tournaments and is just 2-5 in his last five tournaments. Giraldo made it through qualis here and has won his last three opening round matches on this surface. The indoor conditions really should favor a serve like de Bakker, but he seems a little too green and fatigued perhaps to consistently be up for the task against someone like Giraldo who doesn't have the game suited for this surface, but seems to understand his limitations well enough to be competitive. Having gotten a few matches already on the surface, should help.
[PARIS] STEPANEK-RUSSELL UNDER 22.5 [-125]
Stepanek has found himself some form over the last two weeks on this surface. He's not always trustworthy, but draws Russell who is in the main draw as a lucky loser after Giraldo crushed him in straights. If Stepanek shows up to play, he could easily send Russell back out of this tournament and if he's here just to check collect, well then an under may still be done in the opposite direction.Comment -

#5404Ep kendrick is playing kuznetsov(+160) wednesday in nashville...I would think Robert has got to be little tired. He won the doubles at C'ville(10 matches total in 7 days) as well with young..Pocketed a cool 10,000 between both wins..Wonder if he really cares about this one with that score?
Kuznetsov, who he beat in 3 sets in Virginia..hard to beat someone twice inside of a week if they got a set of ya.
Also Guccione(who looked like Ass vs shabaz) is playing a fellow countrymen in Matosevic..Might be worth it to fade that big stiff..matso is around -120Comment -

#5407[PARIS] CLEMENT +190
Clement draws Verdasco who is in miserable form. The Spaniard has lost in the first round in three of his last four tournaments and looked awful against Gilles Simon last time out, losing in under 60 minutes. Clement meanwhile worked through a tough three setter against Lopez. He served up 22 aces and was never broken on serve. If he can replicate that or anything close, I think he's got an excellent chance to beat Verdasco. Verdasco is in the chase for London, but that did not seem to inspire him in his home country last week. He trails Roddick for the 8th spot and Roddick looked like he gave a crap last week, while Verdasco looks ready for some time off.
[PARIS] MARCHENKO +110
Stakhovsky is another good piece of fader-ade for me. The "Hov" seems to still be getting by due to his New Haven run and the first couple of rounds of the US Open. What people seem to fail to have noticed is that Sergei is 2-5 since then, losing in the 1st round in three of his last four tournaments. He reminds me a bit of de Bakker in that he is of a slight build, so the long haul of the season seems to be catching up to him. Marchenko meanwhile is in fairly good form on this indoor surface with a semifinal appearance in St.Petersburg last week and making it through qualis here this week. Giving him a couple of matches already on this surface against an out-of-form Stakhovsky means I'll give Marchenko a roll here.Comment -

#5412Clement is the right play and I think he will take it out in 3 sets but in saying that its a no play for me as it may aswell be a coin flip in my eyes.
Love the Marchenko play and the fact that he has had to do it the hard way to get a spot in this tournament by playing through qualifiers! I have noticed recently that many qualifiers in tournaments at the end of the year have been doing quite well and the fact that stakhovsky is in bad form makes this play so much more apealling. This reminds me greatly of the Becker match the other day where he cruised through in straight sets after being a qualifier aswell.
Good luck EP36Comment -

Does this mean that Clement vs. Verdasco (OVER 22) is another possible bet? The game
should not be decided quickly, what do you think?Comment -

#5422[PARIS] STEPANEK/ALMAGRO OVER 22.5 [-120]
Think the quick surface should potentially help Almagro here because he CAN bring a big serve. The question is will he bring it consistently? Stepanek is in good form, but not immune to bending over and getting raped for a set. All things being equal, I think we could see a lot of service holds in this one if both bring their best serves. That means even in two sets, this has a shot. If Almagro can snag a set, then this should go to three.Comment -
