if the total is 20 games and 23 games have been played who cares if someone retires. your bet should be winning. as for handicaps, the same aplies. if the outcome is decided already the bet shouldn't be voided.

#5254PARLAY: TIPSAREVIC + BAGHDATIS [+125]
Tipsarevic draws Kukushkin in St.Petersburg. Kuku is a capable player on this surface, but his wins against Gabashvili & Chardy should be taken with a grain of salt IMO. Most of his wins on this indoor surface in recent weeks have come against players that don't have the power of Tipsarevic. Tipsarevic's serve has been unbreakable in two matches so far here and that is the key for me. Kukushkin won't make things easy, but I think if Tipsarevic gets his serve in consistently, he moves on. Baghdatis looked solid against Phau in his Vienna opener and now draws Berrer. Berrer has had to work tough through two rounds here and his serve is a weakness. Baggy has a serve that can potentially dominate. He won't always get his 1st serve in enough to make you feel comfortable, but it's still a weapon. Fatigue shouldn't be a problem yet.Comment -

Gut play here. Tsonga has ruled Simon in the past and Simon was fortunate that Nalbandian choked pretty hard against him yesterday. Tsonga's serve is the difference for me.Comment -

The price won't be for everyone, but Isner really struggled against Mannarino and was fortunate to advance. You can always question what kind of effort Monfils will bring, but he has played real well in a "home" setting on this surface this summer with Davis Cup. I think his movement is the big difference today as Isner played like a big stiff yesterday and will likely do his same old, serve big and hope to get to a tie break routine. I think Monfils catches him today if he can play the better all-around game [returns].Comment -

#5262[MONTPELLIER] BROWN-WASSEN [-115]
Doubles play in France. This duo of Dustin Brown and Rogier Wassen first teamed up this summer on Challenger dirt. They won their first tournament. They have now won three titles since first teaming up with two on Challenger dirt and one indoors at Metz in September. They had lost two straight on indoor courts until winning their opener here. They draw Lopez-Schwank. This is a first time pairing. These are also guys who both play their best on clay. Schwank has had some success on other surfaces with great runs at Wimbledon & the US Open with other partners. They fall into the formula I like as well, having won less points than their opponents in round one despite winning.Comment -

#5264[DOHA] ZVONAREVA-CLIJSTERS OVER 21.5 [+115]
Public punisher play here as the juice is heavy on the under at -145. Most will assume these two just want to get this match out of the way since both are in the semis. We'll see, both are still very competitive and have momentum that they will not want to lose just by trying to make the match "easy" to save themselves.

Not sure how heavy I am playing this weekend. Have Youzhny future still alive + Zvonareva, Stosur and Wozniacki futures kicking. Thinking of just letting those ride and not much else.

#5271Well Ep, looks like I might be heading to the Charlottesville Challenger this week. I convinced the wife to go up there on Saturday for the semis and some doubles action, cant beat cheap tickets. Looking like there are some good players in the draw..Harrison,smyczek,dent,and don't forget the defending champ in Kevin Paycheck..Apparently some guy from Dave Matthews band donated a bunch of scratch and they built this sweet indoor court for he matches a few years back.
First time ever betting on tennis and actually being there to watch....!! Maybe I scour the local bars on friday night to find out if the fix is in and tell everybody here so we can clean up!
p.s. By the way Somdev Devarrman went to UVA so im sure the indian sensation will have his own cheering sectionComment -

#5272Sweet. Make sure you post some updates from there if you can. I'll have to make a point to bet on that tournament! Although I probably would have anyway since Challengers seem pretty nice on the sportsbook account lately. Interesting field of players.
Classic Russian choke job by Tursunov in the 3rd set. Up 4-2 and serving, now back on-serve at 5-4. Interesting finish there. Rooting for Youzhny since I have that future on him, if he wins this might have been a fixer upper for live betting.
Going small on a doubles play for action this morning. Kubot-Marach at +150. They're taking on an in-form duro of Matkowski-Fyrstenberg who beat them in Shanghai in a super breaker. Like their chances for payback though in Marach's home tournament and they're the defending champs. That match in Shanghai, Kubot-Marach lost a 1st set tie break and them dominated the second set, 5-1 before losing 10-6 in the super breaker. They know they can beat these guys.Comment -

#5273Doubles play loses in a super breaker after two tie break sets. Little disappointing because they went up early 2-0 in the tie break and the super breaker, but then got steamrolled in both situations.
Sitting with Wozniacki outright to win at +200 tomorrow and Youzhny at +250. Not going to play anything else. GL! See ya next week.Comment -

#5275There's no effective way to do it with Clijsters as the firm favorite that makes sense for my original investment. I had futures on Zvonareva and Stosur as well, it's not like I am losing or making a ton of money with whatever the result will be. I think I break even on all the futures if Wozniacki wins, wind up losing three units total on futures if she loses ... but I had three of the four semifinalists so I'm not too mad if it doesn't work out, I needed Vera to win to guarantee something good.
I may hedge half a unit on Kukushkin if he gets over +200. That would guarantee me breaking even if Kuku wins, still getting +200 on Youzhny if he wins.Comment -

#5277Yeah that was the last score I saw and then got busy watching football. I was very disappointed when I checked the final score to see that she was non-competitive in the 2nd. Disappointing finish for her after what was a solid week. But I think in the end, the two best WTA players right now are where they should be .. in this final in Clijsters and Wozniacki. Hoping for a good match, think Woz will have to play very well and hope Kimbo sucks on serve.
Would suggest those looking for a play on Sunday think about the over in the Youzhny-Kukushkin match or perhaps try the old mad math play and take both guys for a unit to win 2-1 ... seems like Youzny is incapable of playing two set matches.

#5278Well the draw is out for Charlottesville. This local kid who is a sophmore at UVA..Jarmere Jenkins has a wildcard. He actually has played decent for a 20 year old..playing some greek stiff who I never heard of. Possible 2nd round slugfest between Paycheck and Somdev. Harrison might be favored over the #3 seed Sweeting. Nice to see Nishikori playing, Ive always wanted to see his game, hopefully I can get up there and he will still be playing. The boarsheadinn is where its at, pretty sure they will have wireless there. Would be cool to sit out side in the parking lot and give you guys inside info from the site.LOL...15 bucks for the entire day of action..Cant beat that deal.
I would put some scratch on Smyczek he has a nice draw till the QF where he might get dent.Comment -

#5279I like Clijsters to beat Wozi. Wozniacki struggles against players that hit with power. She can't handle pace real well. I also think that Wozi's 2nd serve will get her in trouble with the veteran Clijsters. It's just too weak. That's 1 big area of her game that she has to improve if she is going to make the final step and be able to beat the "big dogs". Wozniacki is ranked #1 in the world, however, her record against the top players is not good at all. These 2 have only played each other once which was of course the final of the 2009 U.S. Open. Clijsters of course won 7-5 6-3. This is a big meaningful match so both women should come out swinging. I think Clijsters takes it. Any thoughts? I was thinking about taking Youzhny as well, but one of the threads here said he had gotten food poisoning and was looking like he was going to retire. Not sure if that's true but is sure makes me wary of putting money on him. If he did get food poisoning and is that sick, then how the hell has he made it to the finals? Kukushkin has been playing great which also makes me wary of putting anything on Youzhny. Thoughts?Comment -

Of course the line is dropping like a rock for the chudster vs a washed up cilic..Dam tough draw for Murray vs lopez...+550???Lopez beat him on hard in LA and the line is inflated due to Murrays fed beatdown..IMO the perfect contrarian bet..I think Lopez was +250 in that match now hes double that..

#5285[BASEL] BOHLI +168
I don't think there's as much from a talent point on this surface between Bohli and Haase as the price would indicate. Bohli won an indoor hard court title on the Challenger level just a few weeks ago in Rennes, beating some decent players along the way like Mannarino, Dancevic, Phau and Gicquel. Haase has been at the ATP level the past few weeks on the indoor surfaces with mixed results. He made it through qualifying here, but worked very hard to do so. He falls into the formula where I like to fade a player in that Mathieu scored more points than he did in their last qualifier despite losing. I don't see a big secret to this one. Both guys can dominate with their serve against a similar player to themselves, so 1st serve percentage will be a key stat. Unfortunately Bohli is just 2-7 in his career at this tournament in his home country, but I think this one will be close and that means for me it makes sense to try the dog.Comment
