Well that Clijsters loss sure came out of nowhere. These Belgian women returning from absense definitely aren't in top form this early in the season. I'm gonna have to thik long and hard before I back either in outright in major tourneys now. I thought they were going to be easy money and get back on top of the WTA rankings.

#248Something wasn't right with the Clijsters match yesterday. Every ball she hit in the first set went out of bounds and in the second set it got a bit better but still she was all over the place. There is no way that you can cap for something like that to happen. Women players are so mentally fragile that you can't really back any of the players with any certainty. Something stunk about the match last night and all I am going to say is that if you aren't trying to win you should probably make it a little less obvious.
Whoever was asking about the Safina outrights yesterday at +1750, you can hedge that out right now at Safina not to win at around -900 and make some good profit. Outright market numbers crashed big yesterday and for those of use who still have our players alive, we got a huge break. I've been trying to hedge my +400 serena with -200 not to win on Matchbook today but have had no takers thus far. If no one takes it I am just going to let it ride past the Suarez Navarro match and hedge it off tomorrow or sunday
Looking ahead in the brackets I am seeing some good matches coming up. Might be taking some chances with big dogs like possibly Karlovic over Nadal ..... with a big serve anything can happen really.
I have locked in Hewitt at +102 as my only play so far earlier. Nothing else as of yetComment -

#251Brianti with the early break of Stosur. A stosur loss here and Serena's odds are going to go down even further. Hope this girl can keep it up
Azarenka up a break as well. She will probably easily win that match
Zvonreva beating on Dulko as well. Might go up two breaks soon in the first setComment -

#256staco what are you thinking about the monaco/davydenko match?

#257Fisch Davy is 3-1 lifetime vs monaco though all four matches have been fairly close. I would rather take the +8.5 then the +700 because I still think Davey wins. Question is will Monaco play the match till the end or if he is losing fold up shop. Would hate to lose a 8.5 handicap when a player loses the final set 6-2. Lots of games though to play with .If Monaco can just take one set you should be good.Comment -

#267Baghdatis is a media darling right now and that usually gets Joe Public's money. If Almagro can actually NOT f*ck things up and point me in a direction that he might win before that one starts, I will be playing it because I was left on my own this evening and will be staying up to watch some! When it's this close, I think you always go with the better price. Baghdatis has a more potent serve, but his serve can also give more breakers if it's not popping correctly. Hewitt's key will be to convert break opps and to maintain his own serve.Comment -

#270Unbelievable Baghdatis retires and of course I bet this BEFORE the match started so my bet is void because it didn't go two full sets.Had I just bet Hewitt at the start of the match live then it would have been one set and then I would have had the wager stand.Comment -

#276Trying to hedge my Serena Williams outright on matchbook for a second day now and no one is taking it.I have a competitive number up there to so you would think someone would take it. Kinda have a bad feeling about Williams against stosur eventhough Serena is a -700 favorite or whatever it is.
Leans for today, though I haven't pulled the trigger on any of them are:
Isner +606 over Murray Line has gone up for Isner. People pounding murray though the price is so poor
Karlovic +599 over Nadal
Kuznetsova -154 over Petrova. Like the experience of Kuz in majors here. Two russians so this match will go 3 sets
Kirilenko/Safina will go three sets probably two with the two russians.Possibly an over 21 play on this match
I like Henin to beat wickmayer but after henin's last performance I will pass on taking her at -300
Will have my plays in a couple hours.Just thinking about these nowComment -

Karlovic +628 wow line has gone up alot in the last hour
Isner +620
Kuz -144 came down nice
Kirilenko/Safina over 21 -101
Best of luck tonight guysComment -

#278Hey cakes,What is your opinion on bondarenko getting through to the semis...Cant see safina any worse than -200 vs her if they play and she would be aslight fav vs maria k me thinks..Comment -

#279Bondarenko is playing some of the best tennis on the women's side right now. She should be able to beat Zheng which should set her up with a match with Safina probably in the quarter finals. Safina is only -260 against Kirilenko and Bondarenko is a better player then Kirilenko so you would think Safina would have to be under -200 favorite over Bondarenko. Would be good to have Bondarenko as a dog vs Safina because that match to me would be a toss up. We are getting to the point of the tournament when everyone is saying WHEN will Safina blow it not IF. Just takes a player to get an early start on her and Safina to get mad which she always does and then it will all go downhill for her. If Bondarenko happens to make it to the semi's I don't think she will beat Henin or Kuznetsova but a semi final finish would be good for Bondarenko.
Tough to cap womens tennis. YOu look at a match from all these different angles and figure there is no way that the player will lose and then you have a match like Clijsters the other night that makes you paranoid and makes you realize why you shouldn't be betting womens tennis. Pretty much anything is possible. If Zheng won the Australian Open I would be a bit surprised but I wouldn't think its the most shocking win ever in the history of sports. Really anything is possible here. Mens side is a bit more easier to capComment -
