#248Got to watch a good chunk of Novak's match, he was mucking around against Stepanek and still covered -5.5. So if he drops the hammer I see him winning handsomely. The only worry for me is that Stepanek served horribly and if Berdych even serves towards th high 60s it may be closer then initially realised. BOLComment -

Amazing Mate!
You are one incredible heck of a picker.. Hats off !!. .5-0!!
Irony is there is not even a SINGLE SOUL who appreciated and applauded your efforts.. This really pi**es me off.
There are a bunch of sadistic a**holes on this forum, who can comment only when you are going down..
Had it been 0-5, They have been all awake to pounce on you with their lethal attack!!
Why this forum is so sick full of A**holes & Basta**s who don't have any sense of appreciations.. Pity..
No wonders I was asking you to exchange our picks on PM before ...
Keep it up!! Way to go!!,.. Cheers..Comment -

To be fair to others, I don't always have time to go on their threads and congratulate them when they do well, so I can understand. There's always a bit of conversation around, which is good.Comment -

As to 'why': It's Novak haha. He could beat Berdych 6-2 6-2 if he really wanted. It was a matter of how pumped he was for it. In the early rounds, he generally doesn't cover his spreads, whereas in later rounds he usually does.Comment -

#255Sorry for the lack of writeups this week... travelling quite a lot and just dont' have the time. Will be much better next week.
ATP ROGERS CUP
- Djokovic -4.5 games - $1.62 - ONE STAKE
Monfils is basically a poor man's Novak. Regardless of how good Gael is, everything he does, Novak does better. Not afraid to lay the 4 and a half.
WTA ROGERS CUP
- Kerber +2.5 games - $2 - ONE STAKE
There were some concerns about an injury but I'm not really sure how legit they are considering how well she beat Kasatkina. Regardless, I'm going to take her line rather than her for the win, because if she retires at any point, I get money back on the line.
I have the following two futures bets lined up on the other games (posted in my futures thread) for the other plays, so I'm not going to play any lines in the other games. They're actually tricky to pick anyway. As a lean, I'll go with Nishikori +2.5 and Keys -5.5.
- ONE STAKE on Keys to make the final at around $4 (can't remember exactly)
- THREE STAKES on Wawrinka to make the final at around $3
Hopefully both get up and then Kerber and Djoker can take them home for a clean sweep of my futures bets)))

#256legit 10/10 c*nt. Has it sown up at 5-3, if he serves it out I basically win the play. Annoying af.

he actually had berdych 15-40 on to break him off serve and he ended up losing...then he won the service point for 6-4...probably should have beat it if he was on in two of the ralliesComment -

#258Raonic probably deserved a set yesterday...he had so many return points and just came unglued in the critical moments which suggests he will not be among the greatest players...his career trajectory suites a tsonga or a berdych and even less actually...as stated above Nole will have all the tricks to counter Monfils if he comes to play...Comment -

kind of answers your question. I sound like a fanboy, but Novak is quite literally god. Monfils was playing great tennis (as you said) and he still destroyed him. He returns so well.Comment -

#271WTA BRAZIL
- Ostapenko/Babos UNDER 22 games - $1.85 (Crownbet) - ONE STAKE
My reading of this game is that one of these girls is going to absolutely smash the other, but I'm not entirely sure which one. Babos has more experience, but Ostapenko has shown some real signs of improvement this year. She is 10/16 on hard since the 21st of Feb, with the highlight being the final of WTA Doha. I'm expecting a straight sets win here.
CHALLENGER CORTINA
- Cervantes to WIN - $1.85 - ONE STAKE
Cervantes is the reigning challenger champion and an extremely consistent guy. I'd hesitate to even call him a challenger player. Souza has been in good form lately, but anytime I see Cervantes at about evens vs. this type of player in a challenger tourney, I'm taking him.
- Gaio to WIN - $2.35 - ONE STAKE
Value central. I can't understand the pricing of this one. Gaio has won nine of his last ten (his one loss was in his only hard court match - the rest were on clay). He is on an 11 match winning streak on clay, taking down guys such as Lama, Trungelliti, Gianessi, Lestienne, Souza and most recently, BELLUCCI. Andreozzi has won 6 of his last 10 on clay, and leads the h2h 1-0, but the h2h doesn't count for much, and Gaio is in supreme form which will equate to supreme confidence. Gaio should AT LEAST be at evens, if not favourite.
CHALLENGER LIBEREC
- Vatutin to WIN - $3 - ONE STAKE
Another slice of value. In his last four, Vatutin has scored wins over Zekic and Olivo. That's, combined with De Greef's inconsistent nature, makes me think that the Russian is in with a big chance. De Greef shouldn't be this much of a favourite against almost anyone.
- Coppejeans x Kicker - $2.3 - ONE STAKE
Probably going to be another multi coming later - I'm waiting for prices to be released.Comment -

#279Couple more:
ATP ATLANTA
Alexander Dolgopolov is a really strange, yet effective player to watch (and probably play against). He's capable of such utter brilliance, but seemingly incapable of sustaining it over any length of time - continually frustrating many with his sometimes poor body language. He has a weird style that you'd probably call defensive, but can also attack pretty well at any time off both wings. He loves drop shots and slices, and will often slices his opponents around until he can finish them off. He also has an amazing backhand.
Nishioka is a young Japanese player that's come on in leaps and bounds in the last eighteen months. He showed great character to come back from being 5-3 down in the last set (saving four match points) and win. He is left-handed, however, and from my observations of his style, he sometimes floats his forehands a little bit. His forehands will be going into Dolgopolov's backhands, and the Ukrainian loves that shot. I also think that Dolgopolov will aim to prey a little bit on Yoshihito's lack of big-game experience.
If tennis was straightforward, you'd argue that because of Nishioka's form and fight, and Dolgopolov's lack of it, you'd take the Japanese +3.5 @ $2. BUT, tennis is not straightforward, and for the reasons I've discussed above, I do think Dolgopolov will win this fairly easily.
- Dolgopolov 2-0 - $2 (WILLIAM HILL) - ONE STAKE
Another match I'm quite keen on is Kamke vs. Zeballos. Zeballos is primarily a clay player but DOES have the game to compete on hard courts. A typical flamboyant left-hander, he has a nice serve - saving 5 of 7 break points in his match against Garcia-Lopez. Kamke was a lucky loser in this event, beating Stakhovsky in two tiebreaks. He's a very solid, baseline player who likes to really 'press' his opponents by never going too far behind the baseline. He can also attack pretty well off both wings but particularly the forehand.
Zeballos, as a clay player, doesn't mind operating from behind the baseline BUT can also come in and attack if he gets a poor return or a short ball. He has a great topspin forehand that will nag away at Kamke. Kamke, however, does not have as good a backhand as Dolgopolov, and this is one area Zeballos can exploit. I also think that he was impressive against the better player in Garcia-Lopez, generally serving well. Kamke still won, but beat a weaker opponent and did have quite a bit of trouble on serve. I think Zeballos should have the better of this match-up.
- Zeballos to WIN - $1.75 - ONE STAKE
In my last Atlanta mens play, Verdasco takes on Benneteau. Since his comeback, Julien has played 19 games and won seven. However, all his victories have come against guys that you'd consider predominately 'challenger players'. He has not beaten anyone of note yet. Verdasco is a shadow of his former self, but that still amounts to a damn good tennis player. Benneteau has always been a primarily defensive player, and he just does not have the weaponry to hurt Verdasco.
Verdasco 2-0 - $2 (WILLIAM HILL) - ONE STAKEComment -
