The "TI" Jinx - LARGE TEST TODAY: Dimitov v. Gulbis
I know some are aware of the other tennis capping sight "T.I." - not giving the full name out so I don't get in trouble with SBR ...

Anywho, quite often when there are lines close to pick 'em territory like Dimitrov-Gulbis ... if they have a large consensus pick, that pick fails.

Very interested to track this today because Gulbis is an overwhelming 34-5 in tips right now on the site. It's obviously not a 100% fade because like all of us, they get 'em right from time to time. But from the ones I have watched, they fail quite a bit more than they come through.

    Popcorn up.

    that's odd
this match is a coin flip, imo, perhaps slight edge to Gulby, 34-5 represents a bit of group think over there?

when they played in acapulco gulbis had won a bunch in a row including his marseille championship.
it was as tight as a 3 setter can get and gulbis was half asleep the whole time. maybe that's why they're all on gulbis.

I can't recall and am not a member to go back and look at the number, but pretty sure they had tipped in favor of Gulbis in Acapulco too. Again not sure what the number was though and I might be wrong.

I was on dimitrov HUGE against gulbis so watched the entire match very intensely. i made such a big bet on dimitrov cuz gulbis looked half-dead against goffin the night before. I regretted the dimitrov bet all match till it was a winner. Even with gulbis half asleep he still looked better than dimitrov. I think he takes this one but hard to bet with the jinx. May just settle with the over. GL buddy.

Dimitrov was clear favorite in Acapulco. Gulbis will wins this match no sweat.

IDK, I think theyre off more often on everyone but maybe about 8-10 players on which they are right more often than not. A blind fade purely because of the huge tip is foolish. Reminds me of a guy on the NBA board a season or two ago that was positive he'd make money only betting dogs ML in the lull of February. He broke a little above even for 4 days than got eviscerated the next three days and stopped posting.

My point is I know youre a good capper but being a contrarian doesn't work in gambling (although if I knew what did I'd be rich)

I have a small (one-unit) bet on Gulbis because I think he is a bit better than Dimitrov now. Also I think in their previous match, fatigue was a serious concern for the Latvian.

I stick to my oppo pick here as I see more and more and more on Gulbis. Like I said, it doesn't always work out ... but in following TI for several years ... you'd have made more money than you lost doing this with this particular price range/situation. Obviously you don't just blindly take the fade - you need to make sure of health, etc. But if all things are equal as with today ... I'll try my luck with this every time and not fret if it loses. Good luck to you Gulbis backers ... in Miami.

                      43-6 now.

BTW .. Dimitrov did not get the clothing memo yet apparently.

Stick to whatever the f*ck you want. It won't matter much when Ernestos Gulbizio puts baby in the corner.

On another note, Gulbis can take this match only with exceptional service like against Sousa, all other shots, skill, flair, etc. is at the Dimi's side.

That depends on whether you bet to make money or to pray to Jerzy-Jebus your Pretty-Boy-Floyd wins.

So 45-7 at TI and like 7-1 at SBR at least. Cue the underdog music.

I don't know about the TI lean, but in my experience, seeing a line (particularly a spread or total) slide in one direction with no buyback and an imbalanced ticket count such as you're describing, it's typically a really poor idea to bet that side (Gulbis in this case).

I've increased my Dimitrov bet from 1u to 3u because of it. Good luck EP.

I grabbed Dimitrov. Early break. Most likely just for maximum heart break like last night with Nishi
