I dont have time today for any writeups, Devvarman is a completely different player than the type of player he is on grass and clay, he looked fantastic at Miami and Indian wells this year losing to Ferrer and Nadal in both tourneys. He is 8-2 on hard courts and 33-17 in his last 50 on hard court, I dont know anything about Ito, seems like a perennial challenger but we will see.
Devvarman is rolling today so far, he was 8-2 in his last 10 hard court matches. He lost to Ferrer in Miami in the the round of 32 and Nadal at Indian wells in the round of 16, very impressive showings, and before that he lost to Federer in Dubai and made the finals in Johannesburg.
Tennis insight has a great tool where you check the activity of a player and you can see his surface records, his record against against big servers, record against higher rank opponents, in his home country, etc. Invaluable tool when looking at these matches. Devvarman is a totally different player on hard courts
