Not a banner day thanks to the late failures of Mr. Youzhny & Mr.Haas who both had a set in their pockets just about, only to yack 'em up. So very good things on the futures front though. Serena losing does really open the long shot dream of Bartoli even more now. Still two tough matches to even get there, but my fortune cookie at lunch today said this is good.

as there's no upside of any type (objective or subjective)...and a very real subjective downside (which may be mocked on an objective basis, as you've tried...but this does absolutely nothing to eliminate it)...it is objectively logical to obey any protocol which simply chooses to not unnecessarily magnify the frustration-content of any given play
actors do NOT say "have a good performance" to one another out of etiquette...as breaking etiquette doesn't sit well with many in that profession (if you're an actor who thinks this is bunkum...you still don't break the etiquette, out of respect for others who would just rather you didn't)
