BitPay Card ATM cash withdrawals return Sep 5th edited

Tried recently to use Bitpay at Draftkings (had used successfully before) and it failed. Contacted Draftkings. They said declined, call bank. Called Bitpay. They said transaction never requested. Tried multiple times and days with same failure.

Sent $100 from Bitpay to Paypal yesterday. Then to bank. Will withdraw from bank ATM. Roundabout way to get cash. Will empty Bitpay account using this technique. No longer comfortable with Bitpay.

Careful with that as ive read some folks got card suspended for gambling transactions trying to fund FanDuel or DraftKings...it could also be declined due to the code

It's quite possible Bitpay has changed the coding as you said. I have used Bitpay at Heritage and also Coinbase before... but this was many months ago. Perhaps they are regulating the card as a standard USA banking card? Where there are heavy regulations involving gambling transactions. I'm not 100% positive though.

I suspect that's exactly what happened. Bitpay card was great when it first came out. But too many restrictions now. Obviously it can be used for regular shopping, but I try to keep my gambling funds separate from "regular" money.

When I did Dfs and funded via debit credit I would do it through pay pal instead of entering card number at FanDuel site.....maybe try that

Yes. I put the Bitpay card as my default for online purchases. Then I sent $100 to a friend (my wife of 48 years and best friend) opting to use card as source. She got an Email saying she had money coming. She logged on to her Paypal account and accepted the money. She was asked what she wanted to do with her money. She selected send to bank. I will use the bank's debit card to send to Draftkings. There was a fee at Bitpay. I don't recall any fees at Paypal.

You were able to add your card to paypal? For some reason I can't add mine. Strange.

ive out quite a bit of money through mine in the past and never knew that?? Considered a prepaid card, odd. But ok. Nice to hear on m/o haven’t tried in awhile. But starting to put too much through my coinbase I feel like.

Do they charge a fee when using card vs using bank account? I think you should be able to use the account/routing number for your Bitpay card and set it up as a bank account. You can find if you log onto your account on web browser and go to your settings and should be able to find the account/routing numbers there. Anyone done this?

I meant with Paypal. I've noticed if I try to send to a friend with my debit card it wants to charge a %, but my bank account his free.

Looks like purchasing m.o.'s not allowed yesterday. Card said declined. It seems they no longer allow m.o.s to be purchased. Great. Havent tried wallymart. Can someone confirm either way? Declined at USPS even though worked before. Called number they said now considered a cash withdrawal hence shit outta luck on M.O's

BTW i got the boot too from using it to fund my bluebird but for everything else it works fine as usual

Well if this forces you to use at a store.... don't understand why anyone would complain? That's what it was intended for anyways.... and we were just trying to find loopholes.... and now those loopholes are closing.

I just called support they say my account is frozen due to “cash advances” from 8-1 to 8-15and that I have to email them and explain. Wtf I did not do any cash advances. All I did was use like an everyday card and sometimes buy on Coinbase like all of us do. Unbelievable
