I am concerned about topbet going into the McGregor-Mayweather fight. Recreational bettors are overwhelmingly betting Mcgregor, and topbet is really make no effort to balance the action with Mayweather at -450, as they are at most offshore books. With the money new players are getting in the bonus, a bad result on this fight and a tough 2-3 weeks to start the football season could be it. I'm actually thinking of hedging my balance at topbet by betting Mcgregor on the moneyline, although I don't think he wins.

Topbet is still paying some people, but given the number of people playing in tourneys and the fact books like oddsmaker have been around for years, I think they will get plenty of deposits for the fight and football.

No one is making excuses. Topbet needs to be run better and needs more capital, everyone agrees. At the same time,calling topbet's management theives when people are still getting paid and saying the lines are garbage when 99% are market lines, is over the top. Topbet should, in my opinion, and the opinion of OSGA, be okay if football season goes well. Big if and obviously no guarantee.

I talked to Matt at the OSGA today, he said several players were paid 3 weeks ago, one over 2k. Position remains that topbet should be fine if football season goes well.

At the end of the day, when a book gets to the point where it can't pay people anymore, it becomes a vicious cycle, since the only way things will improve is if people make new deposits, but who in their right mind is going to deposit at a book that's struggling to pay people? I hope the folks waiting for payouts get their money, but I can't exactly cheer for a bunch of poor saps to deposit at Topbet... :-(

Cyclor, its not black and white. Topbet did not have enough capital and did not have proper risk management controls for the bonus. I do not see any problem with topbet's lines and I don't view the book as a scam. I think the primary reason topbet is in trouble is because recreational bettors had a great year - otherwise why were they not in trouble in previous years. I haven't deposited at topbet in 3 years, I've carried a balance there for a number of reasons, mostly because they offer divisional futures which are hard to find.

Why is it weird, I think it's a good sign. Topbet feels the need to communicate when they are NOT paying, to keep people calm. If they are going to start paying now they wouldn't need to communicate with emails and phone calls, action speak louder than words.

A player just reported being paid $1600 on SBR. It looks legit, the guy posted months ago trashing topbet and saying customer service was useless, and is posting now that the book is horrible and he won't it use again.

I received a new and specific email from topbet today saying that I will receive my wire transfer in 5-10 business days. The tournaments are also seeing double the amount of people that were in them last week - suggesting a lot of players are coming in for the football season - there is no reason to think this has anything to do with topbet slow paying since the book obviously has been slow paying for 6 months.
