2018-19 DJ's UEFA Champions League & Europa Thread

Next week the 1st qualifying rounds begin for both the Champions league & Europa League. I avoid the preliminary rounds that already began as I just cant get a read on some of these minnow teams from Micro states.These early rounds have big line movements so its important to jump on them when possible.


July 10--- Shkendija v TNS

I have to back the Macedonian home side that won their league with a 35 point margin. Shkendija have 7 youth and senior national team players on their roster compared to zero for TNS. The Welsh side averages 3.57 goals per game in a high scoring league. Skhendija averages 3.56 goals per game. Form wise both sides have has 3 of their past 4 games go over 2.5. TNS have a record of 5W 2L 2D compared to 8W 1D for the home side.

July 10--- Torpedo Kutaisi v Sheriff

I always like to hunt for 1st legged draws as the trend is for teams that do not know each other to start slow knowing full time is like HT when it comes to 2 legs. Draws & Unders tend to occur more often and i believe these 2 teams are the most evenly matched pair from the opening round.

The home side Spartaks play in a summer league in Latva while Red Star have been playing friendlies. Form wise both sides have had 3 of their past 5 games go under 2.5. Since 1st legs favour the Under & I'm getting plus money I think that represents decent value. 2-0 to Red Star

The home side Glenavon is the big underdog but they have managed to keep 6 clean sheets in a row. The visitors Molde have failed to score in 5 out of their past 10 games. An extra day of rest and home field could keep the game tight.

Honved at home in the past 5 games have won 4 and lost 1. The Hungarians have double the transfer market value of Rabotnicki and should scrape out a victory on home soil.

In this game I'm just straight out fading Lahti. They were shut out at home in the 1st leg 3-0. In league action this season they are struggling mid table 6 th out of 12 teams. Away from home they have only won twice in the past 15 games. Now losers of 3 straight they must travel to Iceland. Backing the home side at any price better than 1.80/-125.
