Ten thousand people are missing in Libya after storm Daniel dumped nearly eight months of rain on the north African nation, causing two dams to burst and send torrents downstream.

I wonder what could be responsible for these kind of events becoming so frequent?

On the last day of winter in South America, temperatures could peak as high as 45C (113F) in Brazil. Brazil could record its highest temperature in history during this winter heatwave. "Heat will be so extreme that it will be dangerous and pose a risk to health and life,"

I think in Australia they have been keeping weather records since the mid 1800's but that's not really my point. I think we can both agree the Earth has been around much longer than that.

My point is that Australia is a fukking hot place. Its actually larger than the United States but only a small percentage is fit for humans to live. So it's gonna be hot. In the 90's and the 60's Australia recorded 50 C temperatures. Why? What about the times in 1800 when it hit 49 C? Or the several times since where it almost hit 50? Maybe the sun has to do with it like so many scientists believe? Is it possible that in 2223 people will be posting articles on SBR about the record cool temperatures in Australia?

On the other side, the world's coldest temperature ever recorded was in 2023 I remember reading a few months back. So now what?

Who knows. I like global warming actually.

New York's old rainfall record stood for 150 years until 2021, and has now been broken three times.

Hot air holds more water vapor than cold; flooding follows fossil fuel combustion as night follows day.

If this is too complicated for anyone, let me know.

They don’t care about your opinion.
They simply want to turn off the main source of power for the planet Earth and ask you to trust them … or else.

Last month, as recently reported in Real Clear Investigations, more than 1,600 scientists, among them two Nobel physics laureates, Drs. John F. Clauser and Ivar Giaever of Norway, signed a declaration stating that there is no climate emergency, and that climate advocacy has devolved into mass hysteria.

The skeptics say the radical transformation of entire societies is marching forth without a full debate, based on dubious scientific claims amplified by knee-jerk journalism.

But for the high priests of Climate Change Religion, the education and real-world experience of these scientists seemingly does not matter. Much like the 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz," many on the left are screaming: "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, pulling the levers that control the voice of the Great Oz. Listen only to the Great Oz."

Today, the "Great Oz of Climate Change" does threaten to make life on earth dramatically worse for billions of people and no one is allowed to question his policies.

For billions of human beings on the planet Earth, the "Just Stop Oil" and "Just Stop Fossil Fuels" movements really do equate to: just stop life. No matter what the seemingly entitled, rich-kid protesters may pretend to believe, the reality is billions of people the world over depend upon fossil fuels for their very survival. Period.
Sadly — and quite dangerously — "climate change" has morphed from science to a religion for many on the left. Anyone questioning any aspect of the tenets of that newfound faith are branded heretics and excommunicated by the high priests of "green" energy.
With the onset of COVID-19, we continually heard that "the science is settled" with regard to the virus, lockdowns, masking, school closures and mandated vaccines. Anyone daring to ask seemingly commonsense questions was labeled "anti-science" or an "anti-vaxxer." Even doctors in the field and parents simply worried about the welfare of their children.

    • Is the mad rush to "save the planet" more about panicking the public and politicians into ceding more and more control to the high priests of climate change — again, much like the induced panic surrounding COVID-19 — than it is about actual science?
    • Are the Biden administration and the United Nations flat-out lying to us regarding how much of the land in the U.S. must be sacrificed to build "sustainable" solar and wind farms which often dramatically underperform?

    • Are we talking about a few hundred thousand acres of land or are we really talking about tens of millions of acres to get to the fictional "net-zero" goal of halving U.S. carbon emissions by 2035 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050?
    • What happens to the tens of millions of wildlife species which live and depend upon those millions of acres for survival? What happens to the farmland and our food supply? What happens to the massive batteries and the toxic waste they produce?
    • What happens if — and when — nations such as China, Russia, India and others simply ignore the net-zero mandate? Wouldn’t that make the U.S. and every other nation who followed the policy "net-zero" chumps?

    • For that reason, aren’t a number of nations that signed onto the "net-zero" goal now slow-walking or ignoring the policy because they believe it punishes their citizens of today?

Climate change is all political crap. As the world over populates any severe weather once in while will kill and destroy people living in those areas. That doesn't mean it's global warming and climate change.

I call BS on all this garbage. Ocean levels remain the same on the beach lines every place I go. Until I see oceans rising I will remain skeptic. The air I am breathing now in Santa Monica, California is fresh and clean also.

The clean air comes off the Pacific Ocean over here. Has nothing to do with the garbage Democratic elected officials that are ruining this State.

However, California is still a dumpster fire. Thank You Newsom. Homeless, tent cities, increasing crime, high gas prices, traffic, high State taxes, millions of illegals that can't speak English, etc.

I could go on and on with the garbage that goes on here in So Cal.

So all you ignorant loons know more than insurance industry experts?

About 12 million properties may see premium hikes because of the risk of flooding, nearly 24 million because of potential wind damage, and about 4.4 million because of wildfire risk, per estimates from the First Street Foundation, a climate data nonprofit.

I guess we should wreck the greatest economy mankind has ever known just so we can feel good about reducing the 13% of the carbon emissions for which the US is responsible. In the meantime, we can take the word of countries like China, Russia, India, Venezuela, Iran, Indonesia, Korea and Saudi Arabia that they will clean their act up. Never mind the fact that China is firing up 8 new coal plants per month and the other despotic countries are not far behind.

Wake up, do some research instead of blindly re-posting the drivel these far-left websites are feeding you. You are either extremely naive or you are knee deep in the kayfabe that the far left is pushing on extremely gullible people.

Lastly, copying talking points from these sites may make you think you are smarter than others but in reality, it may have the opposite effect.

Where was all that clean Pacific air in the 1970's and 1980's, when every picture or video from out there was 90% smog.
I know, I could not live out there at any time during my life, it's always been garbage.
Don't seem to matter about the Government, both sides have had control and opportunities to fix something. With no success, it must be the people in general.
