Might vary by state but in Washington, you can get fired at any time, no notice and no reason has to be given.

I think most places have that clause in there now.

What I'm saying is if you're good at what you do and get along with management, chances of this happening are very slim.

I've worked a good 8-10 restaurants in my day, and even though I always did my job well and made very few mistakes, they weren't all a good fit. One in particular, I disagreed with management a lot, in front of others too, and it hurt their egos.

One night I rang in an order wrong, and poof, I was gone. Never been written up, nothing, and there were people who f'ked up orders every day, and I rarely did.

But I did a lot to piss off management, so it was no surprise when it happened.
