I was fine with it since I didn't want this spiraling out of control into another summer of 2020 with billions in property damage. In 2020, I would go to the store to get groceries, only to find that the store shut down early for fear of a riot breaking out.
It's tough to say since it's on a case by case basis.
I would say when one party is regularly abusing their power and ignoring the letter and spirit of the laws to stay in power would be the time. We're not there yet, but we're getting close. We have a political party that claims to love democracy above all, yet they're constantly filing lawsuits in front of sympathetic judges to try to get left wing 3rd party candidates kicked off the ballots so their chances of winning improve. They're going as far as trying to throw the opposition party's leader into one of the most notoriously violent, out of control prisons in the country for mislabeling something in their accounting software as a 78-year-old first time offender. This is the same party that told us a little over 25 years ago that committing perjury and getting someone to file a false affidavit shouldn't be prosecuted since the leader of their party was just trying to keep his sex life private. This party is now claiming that when they get power back, they're going to add states so they can never lose the Senate, pack the court and turn it into an arm of their party, and grant citizenship to millions of people who came here illegally, people who have no loyalty to this country, people with no skills other than being able to use simple tools or lift stuff up, simply so they'll get more votes. If they did that, I'd say it's time for the citizen militia to fight back against that party, from their leaders all the way down to their rank-and-file voters.
Or to execute the laws of the union. That's right out of Article 1, Section 8. If the laws of the union are being flouted, the president can call forth the National Guard.Comment
