Democrats will subvert any law to achieve their ends. Since Trump was the civil authority as Commander in Chief on Jan 6, who was the "insurrection" against? The Congress had not yet validated the "election" of Biden. They originally called the Stop the Steal protest "obstruction." Yet the Congress (now intimidated) completed the certification that same evening.
Now a protest to address the grievances over a contested election has become "rebellion." It's all a word game for public consumption since they have not legally charged Trump with "insurrection."
