B.OA, call me naive but I truly believe that 99.9%+ of companies/businesses hire the best person for the job(unless they're forced not to via AA).

Perhaps those that feel that they are not getting a fair shake should or should have made themselves more desirable to hire?? (Education, grammar, being presentable etc).

An example: I recently saw Cam Newton whining about Brady getting a cushy TV gig with little to no experience. First off, Brady was the GOAT QB. Secondly, Brady speaks much better English and is far more presentable. I could go on but Newton currently looks like he has a tree coming out of his head and doesn't publicly speak well enough to be on that type of national stage. Bottom line, do what you have to do to make yourself more desirable to hire rather than cry racism, white man holding me down etc...

Ha! A guy who laid down and quit in the biggest game of his life or the guy that won 7 of those games? Hmmmmmm. Who do I hire?

What Latino's have Trump or his daddy hired over the years??? I'll wait. Trump and his daddy were notorious for not hiring minorities into management roles. They also would not rent or sell real estate to minorities as well.

NO! The first apprentice was NOT black. In fact, Trumps senior staff and the producers of the show, ALL recommended the black guy was vastly more credible than the white guy Trump chose. They all said the black guy should have won. Several people heard Trump say that he would not select a "Nig**r). Go look it up, don't take my word for it. But back to my question. As president, Trump appointed ~70 folks to positions. He ended up firing most of them and replaced them. So out of over 100+ he personally chose, HOW MANY WERE BLACK OR LATINO??? Do you really want to know the answer? You don't find that strange?

I agree with you the best person should get the job, but are you really going to tell me that out of a hundred people, he couldn't find 1 qualified black or Latino? You mentioned DEI and I will tell you that I've consulted companies the last 2 decades on hiring top talent. The companies that succeed ALL have diverse workforces. Why? You need diverse thoughts. If you are in a room full of the same people, your company is in trouble. How do I know? Because I know several that are no longer in business. Same goes for airline pilots. Now, you may think you would prefer a very experienced crew that have all flown together for many years, right? Well, the fact is that you are much more safer with a crew that is not very close to each other, not like each other. Because that group will have people that will 2nd, triple check everything. They are not going to take the word of the other person because they've flown together for many years. You need people that can challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and that comes from people that ARE NOT LIKE YOU. This is why I think Trump has been so horrible in business. He's never listened to the people around him and the people around him are just like him. All yes men.

I'm not sure you would even understand the meaning of DEI?? I'm sure you've gotten plenty of lessons from Fox but if you really want to have a true discussion...

DEI is not about black/white. It's definitely not about quotas or affirmative action. Do you know the first DEI case in America? It was about disability and a person in a wheelchair that had wheel their chair into the street to gain access. Every person in this forum, if they live long enough, along with their elderly family members will benefit from DEI legislation that you never even thought about. You may want to think twice before you roll back DEI. We're about to have the largest number of old people in this country as baby boomers get older.

They rarely go for higher education (women are going for more masters and Phds), they are not very innovative and aren't willing to learn, upskill themselves. I've seen a lot of white men get sent home and they mostly have attitudes thinking that they lost their job to a minority or woman because of a quota or affirmative action. We had negative oil under Trump. It basically wiped out a lot of businesses and unemployed tens of thousands here in Texas. I don't blame Trump for all of it but it happened under his watch. I had to shift my businesses because oil went into the shitter.

OK Season 1 the runner up was a Black guy and season 4 a Black guy won. My mistake. I don't care about the color of the skin but I knew there was a winner.

How many Black owned businesses hire White people? Does it bother you if a Black owned business has 10 employees and they are all Black? Should they have to hire a White person and a Latino? Maybe a trans-person as well? Shall we do the NBA analogy again?

I am all for diversity but only when it comes naturally and not forced upon society. I look at people as people. I don't think its right for Airlines to demand they hire an X amount of a certain skin color, sex, or anything else other than the most qualified people. That is what I want when I walk onto the plane.

DEI and affirmative action are the definition of racism or reverse racism. Whatever you wanna call it. The supreme court said as much recently with affirmative action. You are penalizing someone simply because of the color of their skin. That is racism. Hiring a Black person instead of a White person for the same job because you have to fulfill a quota is just wrong and racist. You can spin it all ya want but that is what it is.

Listen, I know there was a ton a racism in the past and it was wrong of course, but wasn't my generation and we shouldn't have to pay for it by an over correction of certain wrongs from the past. If you can't see that, then I don't know what else I could possible say. You will never understand. Those are the demons you have to deal with while you are alive.

I cant say about other parts of the country where I dont live and dont know first hand, but

Here, when I got out of high school in 1988 you could not get, one of the high paying great jobs in the trades. They took applications 1 or 2 times a year and would hire 50 to 200 new apprentices (out of at least 5000 applications). If your granddad, uncle, or dad -someone you were close too did not have pull, you would not get a job.

Fast forward to 2024, they now have to advertise on TV and radio to even get enough apps to cover the openings when hiring. A first-year apprentice in any of the trades would already be making a good wage for the area, and when topped out would be about 1.5 to 2 times the average for here.

This is not something I've seen on TV media, where most here get their information, it's in my community. I see it with my own eyes and hear it with my ears firsthand, something some that post here cannot do. It's great when you get told how things are, by people who don't even live here, and have to trust the TV media to tell them.

so this is the talking point you decided to dig in your heels until the day you die. Lets look at the facts. You are only speculating as to why Fox settled out of court. All we know foe sure is that Fox decided to have a few guests on their show who questioned the legitimacy of the voting machines. That's basically it! Unless you know something else? If so, let's hear it. I would love to be informed.
