I'm with ya man. They are saying 2 to 3% that get this virus will die. Like I said the experts also claimed this virus is 3x stronger then your average flu bug..

Younger people have died from this already.. So pick 2 or 3 numbers out of 100 blind and have a friend chose a number that you don't know and see if it lands.. Those are your odds based on the percentages especially if you are older.

The problem with the 2-3% is that as of now the only people being tested are individuals that are very sick and have either traveled to an affected area or had contact with someone that traveled there. Ifs fair that the cdc set those parameters but it limits the sample size and only a few deaths will cause a huge bias in the mortality rate

Now that we’re seeing community spread, they’ll start easing the restrictions on who gets tested and that 2-3% will plummet. We’ll likely see mortality rates similar to a very bad flu year.

Given there is no vaccination against this it’s not surprising the mortality rate will be higher, but there is a 0% chance it stays at 2-3%. It wont even be at 1% when all is said and done, likely 2-3x higher than the average flu mortality rate

not trolling brother, are you aware that the CDC hasn’t given test kits to hospitals even though the symptoms are there of corona virus, it’s frustrating to medical directors because they can’t treat the pt correctly, however the CDC cannot provide the test kits.
so not sure if they are downplaying the number of possible positive cases or they don’t have enough test kits which I think is unacceptable.

Fair enough, but, many, many in the US will get sick from it, get better, and pass it on without ever knowing it. Test kits won't do much but help contain it, if that, as the supportive care is the same no matter the diagnosis and there is no vaccine yet.

I think it helps if you understand that viruses spread around the world, it happens.

It happens every year, it's seasonal, and it kills people. You know there's an EBOLA outbreak that killed 66% of the people it infected over the last 2 years, right? At least it's not spreading around the world.
