reasonable man standard. in our system of laws something called "the reasonable man standard" is a very important part of law, especially civil law. it dictates what would a reasonable man do in such and such a situation and if the judge or jury find that a defendant did not act as a reasonable man should/might act he/she could be found guilty of many offenses.
now, as we listen to the crazy people on this forum you know that many of them would be judged insufficient when it comes to the reasonable man standard. right, of course it is not even an issue.
well how about this scenario: how about if one member of a family of one of these individuals who died because they listened to Fox or some other crazy bastards on right wing TV and believed, truly believed the broadcast that this virus is really not that serious, that we have it under control, or it is basically a blue state problem.
a lawyer might argue that a reasonable man (the reporter) has or should have all the requisites of KNOWING this virus is serious and he/she should not be broadcasting what is actually (fake news) and that fake news was directly or even indirectly somewhat responsible (a percent would be issued) for the unnecessary death of an individual because he/she believed in Fox and has for decades.
if that ever happens and Fox news or some other right wing asshole broadcasters are beaten for huge money and maybe even some prison time you will see fake news which is primarily on the right disappear or nearly disappear.
