not sure if that will happen. The States do it all the time after a hurricane or tornado etc. It just allows the feds to open the door to more federal aid for states and municipalities bypassing all the red tape and legislation. Isn't that it?

I use St. Vincent's Outpatient Pharmacy inside the hospital here locally for my 'scripts.
I got a call from them this morning that my pain meds and two others meds were ready.
My wifes best girlfriend just got back from picking them up for me since I'm still pretty much immobile.

She tells me the scene at the hospital was insane.
First off she told me the parking was insane.
Then anyone who wanted to gain entrance inside the hospital was redirected to a side entrance.
At the side entrance she was bombarded with a round of twenty questions, such as "state your business here" etc. etc.
One admitted inside the door she was stopped yet again, this time to be tested for the virus.
Yes, on the spot testing.
Then the pharmacy was a nightmare too she said.

I'm set for the entire weekend, I'm told most stores locally here are closed.
I got plenty of food, plenty of meds now......
I'm not, and my wife and her g/f are not going out anytime before Monday.

Since the initial Health Emergency was issued back in January 2020, It only took Trump 6 weeks to declare a National Emergency.

It took Obama 6 Months from the time the Health Emergency was issued in April 2009 till it was finally declared a National Emergency in October 2009. In that 6 month time frame, 20 million people got sick and several thousand died.

Keep this in mind the next time that you feel like shitting on Trump for how he is handling the outbreak.

Agree, he never called the virus a hoax. But he didn’t take it serious enough either. In my eyes, that is the only thing he did wrong was not taking this serious and that led to many problems. Luckily, many organizations took matters into their own hands and started shutting things down. The virus is not Trumps fault but he should be criticized for how he has handled it.

I have torn meniscus. Went to surgeon who said I have hell of a lot in my knee. Used to have rheumatic arthritis. I could tell you 2 days before it rained. Some hippy chick I was banging told me to buy a whole pineapple not canned. To peel it and eat slices.been doing it for 8yrs and no pain.

I eat pineapple and blueberries as much as possible.
Not only are they good for you, it does help and they're delicious.
I love the Dole products and I don't like many of the mass produced products of any brand but Dole gets it right, lettuce, salads, fruits, everything.

My leg is littered with osteoarthritis, and I just had a major hip replacement too,
The left leg is shorter than the right leg now so the knee is suffering and to a lesser extent the ankle because of the compensation I have to make when standing.

The surgeon thinks this all stems from a lot of things, I played a lot of contact sports back in the day, I was a catcher in baseball.
Funny thing is the dieticians say my diet is solid, and I'm in good shape.
5' 8" 168 lbs, only 22 percent BMI.

You really don't know whether or not Trump took it seriously for at least 2 reason. First and foremost, Trump went against all his advisers in late January and banned travel to the US from China. That in itself proves beyond any doubt he did in fact take this seriously. Doesn't it? Second, you need to remember a very important thing. Until just over 3 years ago, Trump was just another US citizen. Never a career politician. Not making excuses for how he handled it but try and put yourself in that scenario yourself and imagine what a difficult task this must be.

Trump wasn't responsible for the previous decades where the politicians systematically allowed China to control almost all the US's antibiotics and supplies. That was a huge mistake as we all know today but no one cared for decades. It was all about money and power. Trump talked about it all the time while he was running. China this and China that. He was right once again. Now, does he deserve criticism for not doing enough since being elected president? Ya probably. The bigger question is if he will do something about it after seeing what happened with this virus and how his country is susceptible to China, which hates America, and their ability to play with the lives of Americans. There is no excuse to have the pharmaceutical industry offshore. At least not the amount where if something this happens again, the isn't a outlet domestically to spring into action immediately and not dependent on China. Can we agree on that?

It's better he didn't call it a national emergency because it would have incited a panic earlier in the year when we definitely did not have testing supplies. In other words, if people don't know they don't go out panic buying at stores which would spread the virus at a faster rate. It's actually genius but I can't give credit to trump because it's not like he intended it that way.

We have great professionals at the CDC, but his lack of leadership is astounding. Every time something happens you think maybe this time he will grow into the position and rise up. Nope. Never happens and will never happen.

So because he did stop travel from China early on he didn't take it seriously? Gotcha. lol.

Anyways, he could have done a better job I will agree but he's done a great job overall. The US were dependent on China and was in place before Trump.
