#107I am not going to pretend to know what I am talking about but I do know that YOU WILL be a losing gambler if you ignore lines. Winning gamblers beat the closing line in the long term, it's that simple....kind of like the sun rising in the morning.Comment -

#113Again three or four "know it alls" and not one of you can give a concrete example of how picking winners isn't the key to making money in sports gambling but "line shopping" is.
Unreal. No wonder America is last in everything these days.Comment -

#120I've argued with this guy before.
This guy once told me that wealthier people are usually fatter because they have more money to buy food.
Can you believe this moron? Then I posted the statistics that prove poorer, low class individuals are most likely to be obese by a LONG shot, and he kept going with whatever the hell bullshit point he was trying to make.Comment -

#121The lesson here and the reason why am in this thread is you would think someone would at least have a fundamental understanding of gambling and markets before calling out another poster who has time after time illuminated the cyclic nonsense that many of the "professionals" bring to this board on a regular basis.

#123Originally posted by NYSportsGuy210You trying to label anyone is like SBR posters pretending they are successful gamblers.
I get nervous when I bet $50 on a hand of black jack.
Why do you think that is?Comment -

If you feel a bet is going to win, you won't mind paying a worst price, but over the long run consistently getting shitty prices will cut into your profits or bury you if you hit a skid.Comment -

#133I also just want to point out there is a fine line between smart statistical betting and smart feel betting.
The last 3 times I've bought a half run on an under, that half run has won me the bet or won me the push. I did it in those situations even though mathematically i shouldn't have. But logically, getting off the 6.5 or the 7.5 to 7 or 8 just seems right sometimes. I could do it 10 more times and it not matter those 10 times, and I'd still be +EV by getting it the first 3 though.Comment -

#135Seems like a dumb argument since you should want the best line and the bet to win. Everyone loses, so line shopping is important for that reason.

#137NYsportsguy, delete some of your PMs.
Here is what I tried to send you though:
'I see both sides of it. The market, as an entity, is destined to be even - the average juice paid.
So essentially, if you line shop to a price consistently better than the juice paid, you will profit just throwing darts on a board over the long run.
See that point? Line shop for the best price + hit a winning clip and you'll make some good money.'Comment
