dagger the college all stars I assume were an all star team. Composed of the best players in college football. It was not 1 college team vs. 1 pro team. It was college all stars vs 1 pro team. So it would be like the All-America team of this year vs. the Raiders. The all america team of this year may have 2 or 3 USC players on it. Obviously the all american team would obliterate USC if given a few weeks to prepare. But they would fall way short of the Raiders.
Also, where the Raiders players went to school means nothing as we all know that great players go to bad football schools all the time. Tomlinson went to TCU. Does this mean he is a bad player? Nah.
Also most of these games happened before black people were even playing the game. Even since the last game was played in 1976, black athletes have become even more of a factor in the game today. I stand by what I said earlier, the Raiders could win by 70 if they really wanted to. The defensive line of the Raiders would be in the backfield immediately on every other play. By the 4th quarter the defensive line of the Trojans would be unable to stop any running play as they would be so exhausted and beat up. It would get worse as the game moved on.
Its true that some 1st rounders start in their first year in the NFL but as stated by others, they are now 1 year older which is a huge difference, they practice every day all day, and they are in the minority. I bet the average age of the Raiders starters is mid 20's. McFadden is a freak of nature so he is starting. His fellow starters are mostly much older than college kids.
Also its not a given that USC will win the championship this year. They have not played any really good teams. LSU played a much better Ohio St. team last year and just steamrolled them. That was after spotting OSU 10 points. At the end of the year there will be a team from the SEC that is hot and if USC is still ranked 1 or 2 they could get beat easily by whatever head of the SEC beast forms this year.Comment -
