Not a bad idea here. I think it could be like a cash entry fee or a points entry fee. Then everyone starts with the same bankroll. I seen one at a race track in Iowa last year that had the right idea in mind. I think it was in Prm in the Des Moines area. It had a bankroll of so many dollars that everyone started with and it allowed almost every type of wagering available and it has some terrific money it was giving away. Like I said it would take a laptop and maybe a person or two to set this up.

There is several contests on the internet and they are for the NRTA contest and the HRWS contest. It certainly would be nice if SBR can maybe put us into one of those contests and the top 10 percent automatically goes to those events. One of those is at horsetourneys.com which has a good model for that. Maybe we can go with the same format as those. We have plenty of time to set it up as we would like and it certainly would be a lot of fun. Maybe joeyp can give us some good ideas on this contest that we can have set up. I am sure that they could set us up an area for the contest at the hotel for this also. I was thinking maybe we could have the contest on Friday afternoon or Sunday afternoon. Maybe they can get us all race forms that we need for it also. I just think that they could possibly need an advance warning of a contest like this so they can have enough race forms to do it with.

Like I said guys it certainly could be a fun contest for all of us to be in at the Golden Nugget. It certainly would be awesome if some of us got to to the Horse Racing World Series or the NRTA championships. I think these guys at SBR can get it done for us. I hope John, Lou, and Sam that you can get this done. It certainly would be great.

The Binions is always nice to play. Its nice winning in craps and watching ass at the same time.

I hate the craps tables there. The felt is extra springy and makes trying to keep the bounce down almost impossible. Some nice women there for sure.

I know what you mean about the springy... I have that same feeling at the fremont... Binions for me is good just alot of distraction with all the ass everywhere...

For me by far the Four Queens is where I do the most damage. Went on a sick roll last memorial weekend and rolled about 1 hour and 30 min.

I'll have my laptop with me and, with plenty of time to set up a spreadsheet, we can do this rather easily. I'm going to wait to see the agenda when it's released later this week because I also want to find time to go play some golf; we have plenty of time to set up something.

I'm in for a horsecapping contest.......maybe do some selected races, then everybody can get their plays in, and shouldn't hurt the other activities??????? Everybody could get their wagers in before golf or poker and so on so forth, and then present the winners that night at the dinner.
Something like this:
Delmar-3 races
Toga-R 3 races
XXX-R 3 races
XXX-R 3 races
100 dollar buy in per person and maybe SBR match the buy ins.
Any combination of the pre-selected races, and whoever comes out with most monies won, and pay 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Of course, you would have to set a minimum and max per wager. 10 or 20 dollars max WPS and 5 or 10 dollar max Exactas or Tri's.
Lot's of scenarios that could be a good goaty roping, for all.
Just a thought.

Hey John do you want me to pm an idea on how to do this. I have seen tournaments on line done in several ways and I can send some of these sites to you as how they do a horse racing tournament. I think the best way to do this is Friday because you would use part of that void of time in the afternoon when everyone is arriving at the bash. Say it could start with some of the races in early card like Saratoga, Monmouth, and other early tracks then the afternoon tracks like in Del Mar and Golden Gate. Maybe have it starts like at noon PT and have it end at the end of Del Mar or Golden Gate. Wouldn't that be a good idea just to pm you with some ideas and then maybe we can get a sponsor for it that would maybe put some of the top players into those championship series like at the Horse Racing World Series or the NRTA one?

If it is anything close to last time then I think we should put this on Friday afternoon before the events starts on Friday night. I will be back in touch with you on this. I have been in these contests before so it will be not hard to do. Florida golfer has said here he would let us use his laptop. Plus the no-show factor has been between 60-75% which is understandable. Lot of guys are just rolling into their rooms about that time. Plus last time we got back and had to go straight to the poker tourney, could of really used a shower and a few minutes to sober up.

We will do the horse racing at 11am and I think at that time we will get a better attendance.
