i guess...im just mad at myself..i looked at the hockey card for 2 mins before i blindly bet this shit and the game that stood out as a lock to me was the penguins over the islanders..and i won a 100 on that but i lost 600 on this...im the freakin idiot of the year.

This season iv been taking a bunch of games ranging from +110 to as high as +170 that i think are pretty much coin flips. Been hitting 50% and making a really nice profit.

Ofcourse, you have to look for value and take favorites too. I try not to go above -130 or -140 for ML, otherwise maybe a regulation bet. But yeah, def. look into underdogs, thats the way to go.

And dont bet against goalies that are 6-0 lol.

Losing a pick that you blindly follow is a much worse feeling then the good that comes from winning a pick you blindly follow IMO.

Atleast you hit the Pens game, which was def. an easy/smart play. Was on that too...

Rod is usually sharp with hockey, still really curious why he liked this game. When i looked at it, first thing i thought was that it was the most 50/50 game out there. Two overachieving teams, you gotta favor the home team, but Stars had a huge goalie advantage. Just sucks that you guys were that close to cashing big.

-140 is way too much juice to lay for a game in Montreal. Yea, the Canadiens are struggling this year, but they are still a decent team and more importantly at home. Its tough to play there, they wont keep losing there. PHI is going to be a huge public play tomorrow, though i think its another one of these 50/50 games. Not worth the -140.

Avs might be decent value if you can get them around +110. They have been lights out on the road.

Yeah, but a team is usually never as bad as they appear during a losing streak, nor as good as they appear during a winning streak.

Canadiens are desperate, and their players/coaches are approaching as much of a must-win game as there can ever be in October. Im not saying the Flyers lose, but -140 is too much to lay on a game like this.

Okay, so you state Philly is a huge public play and -140 is too much, then you turn around and take a dog b/c you assume getting + points = sharp, yet avs are obviously going to be a bigger public play here:

Percentages broken down of current bets on both games:

Game 1:

Flyers: 70%
Montreal: 30%

Game 2:

Avalanche: 84%
Calgary: 16%


So, it is more square to take Philly @ 70% on the ML, but it's totally sharp to take Avs +110 @ 84%
