if the game goes into ot and the pens win you lose your bet. they have to win in regulation for you to win

refresh are u retarded?
i dont even bet hockey but i know this.
if u bet pitt -0.5 -135 for regulation time and game goes into overtime you lose.
if u bet pitt moneyline is -273 for regulation time and game goes into overtime your wager is a push.

Since you say they are both regulation time bets, the moneyline wager you should get your money back if the game goes to overtime whereas you would lose the -0.5 play.

not obvious that a ML bet is a push if game goes to OT

Please note:
Effective immediately, hockey games will be graded on the results of regulation time only, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the line offering.
Is that obvious enough?

I understand, so therefore if you bet on the ML
on a tie, your team did not win and therefore is a loss
and -0.5 is the same as ML so, it is not that obvious
otherwise, ML should be listed as PK since this is essentially 3-way betting

ml is NOT necessarily 3-way betting, 3-way betting would include a bet on "tie" or "push" or "draw" and any bets on a team winning in regulation would be a loss if the game went to overtime
in your example you are paying quite a premium to get a push on the game going to overtime rather than a loss if you took the -.5
