I love the regular early season odd games. Always seem to do well with these.

They are the best games by far!! Not even close. That is one of the things that makes college hoops so much easier to win at. I very rarely play any 'big name' schools. Give me LB St or Eastern Washington or East Tenn St any day of the week

Pacific (-4.5 now) over Nevada, on a neutral court in LA, is a good bet. Nevada has a very young, untested team. They are starting three freshmen, a sophomore, and a junior. Pacific has been a nemesis, even when Nevada has good teams. Pacific has a relatively experienced starting five. They are starting four seniors. Most of their team from last year is back, and they had a pretty good year last year (23-12). Pacific opened this season with a good win, on the road, over UTEP. Pacific's stud is a senior forward named Sam Willard; Willard is going to be getting fed by an experienced set of guards, and he's going to be a handfull for Nevada. Nevada might be better than we think; it's still early, and we are still learning what everyone has. But I don't think so. Chances are that Nevada is in for a rough season, probably .500 will be good for them this year. Bet on Pacific in this one tonight.

SMC is going to destroy St. John's. A milquetoast coach like Steve Lavin leading a team full of veteran "talent" that's never sniffed the tournament is walking into a hornet's nest. Ask Steve Fisher how much San Diego State enjoyed their trip to Moraga for this event last year. They got *smoked* and they were a much better team.

I like St. John's tonight... +4.5... I'll take the points. Should be a close one... but I think St. someone is going to win by 1 or 2.

jjgold is not a serious capper. These games are the best because research pays off as there are many more lines off now than when you have conference match ups with powerhouses so you will have to a wait a couple months for Duke and UNC jjgold.

St. John's has a great recruiting class for next year. Almost all seniors this year, with 1 good freshman. St. Mary's has played in this late game the last 2 years while for St. John's it is a 2AM game NY time. They have a game on Wednesday night in NYC. A lot of traveling and a tough spot for Lavins first game. If he can stick around for a couple of years the Garden might rock again.

I love these games. It's all the same for me. Someone wins and someone loses. At the end of the day, it's just a bet like the rest of them. Christ is with you JJ, in your hear and soul!
