    Unit betting?
Can someone explain this unit betting to me. Percentage of bankroll? Ive never used this. i bet a game i throw 3-400 on a game. Never thought about units or percentage of bankroll. how does one decide unit and percentage of bankroll. This is a serious question. would appreciate some input on this. i am losing too much money the last couple weeks. maybe time to use this method

1-5% is usually standard..the problem with that is, most people can't determine their edge each game accurately.

5% of your bankroll is what the template is for most unit bettors

for more information, review the kelly criterion:

most people use half kelly, as fully kelly is pretty risky...although a losing bettor will go bust no matter what

I go in range of a 1 to 10 scale usually. 1 being for some action and 10 being a huge play. Then you have anywhere in between.

                      i started with 200 dollars and 5 dollar bets: = 1 unit = 2.5 % of bankroll

once i hit over 300 i move up to 10 dollar bets: 1 unit = 3.33% of bankroll

after going over 400 i stayed at 10 dollar bets: 1 units = 2.5% of bankroll

current bank roll is $495.00. going to cash out for 200-300 in the next few days. i think ill cash out for 200 and have $300 bankroll and go back to 10 dollars (3.33%) 1 unit plays.
