Yes. They. They have ones that plug into your USB port, and if you have any issues Verizon will walk you right through it.

If you get one - remember I said this- they are VERY fragile. I went through like 4 of them because I am a drunk jackass and they are a pain in the ass to replace.

If you want to try one and see if you like it they have pay as you go ones in Walmart now.

$40 per month - unlimited - no contract ... works on the sprint network - anywhere you get a sprint phone signal - you got an internet connection - plug into a USB port on your laptop ... click connect .. and start using the internet ... is ideal for long road trips if you have ADD ... I was able to watch content from my home DVR via a slingbox while driving down I40 a few weeks ago ... got around 1.5Mb download and 0.5 Mb upload .. enough to do what I needed it to do.

I dont know if anyone has responded to what he is actually asking as the first page was get a cell. I think you're referring to a mobile card or air card. These are purchased through all the major cell phone carriers and costs roughly about as much as the lowest broadband plan.

This depends on how much he travels. I had to go w Verizon because I was travelling everywhere...I say man purchase the "pay as you go" one for Sprint and see if you have network everywhere you would need to use it. If you do? Cool, you just saved $30 a month. If not? Verizon it man.

MUHerd, first of all, the girl in your avatar needs to be eaten. Second, I agree with your assesment. I have a Verizon wireless card (unlimited use, no longer offered) and am very happy with the speed and service.

I too use a verizon PC card. I had the USB stick and kept breaking it. The card might be a little slower, but it isn't breaking. They are advertising the PC card and key modem free if you activate an account. see: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...eCategoryId=16

anyway, speeds are variable, ranging from very slow (like right now, middle of the afternoon, system bogs down) .5 mbps up to 3 mbps. I can check it one minute and it kicks me offline, even though I have two full bars of signal, then the next minute it's as good as the phone company's zoomtown service. If I have to do a lot of stuff or want to watch youtube or something else, I have to pull over and hook my cable modem which is here in my work van (work for Time Warner) into the system and go through it with 15-20 mbps speed. I'm going to Knoxville Friday and will take it with me, but locally I would much prefer to hit a decent apartment complex and tap into someone's unsecured network (there are still a few out there) than try and watch video off the aircard. What makes little sense to me is that my personal phone service through Verizon can have full signal the same time I lose signal on the verizon aircard. weird. still, it's better than what I had this time last year- which was nothing. Let's see if 4G is any better.
