(2) Remember to regularly spend plenty of good time with your kid. Enjoy him/her. You need to keep that relationship in order, for you, and for the kid, and because when the time comes in court, you want there to be no question about your seriousness as a father.

(3) Keep your hands very, very clean. No crimes. No affairs of your own. Tone down the vices. Do not give her any amunition to use against you in the child custody case. Stay cool.

(4) Be strong, and keep your head up. You are the one living up to your commitments and trying to keep your family together. You're the good guy.

(5) Get/stay in shape, don't drink too much, and stay as healthy as you can. Physically, these things are a challenge. It's a marathon. Lots of guys go to hell physically when they go through this. You need to keep a clear head. You need to be there for your kid. You need to find a babe when this all passes.

Good luck to you. It's a rough experience. It will pass though, and your life will be better than ever.
