    Homecoming means NOTHING
I don't want to rail on guys, but show me ANY proof where a team plays better or wins by more because its HOMECOMING. The game itself means nothing more than any other on the schedule. And people who use it, or factor it into their capping, are fooling themselves.

Simply put, its NOT an angle AT ALL!

I've said for 35 years.........SR. DAY is much more significant than HOMECOMING.

who doesn't ? I duked the Bayside QB a case of beer to throw the game. Hammered 5 dimes for $250 on that one.

                  Do the math.

Just as much so, why would books be dumb enough to offer HS football?

If they cover the spread the team gets to run a train on the homecoming queen!!! Now that would give these fuks some motivation. I'm gonna become a coach

Easy. Homecoming teams are 37% more likely to win.

You're very simple-minded, Brock. Of course it means something. Homecoming (in college) is when the university schedules a NOBODY football team for a "gimme" win. Indiana had plenty of problems putting away that powerhouse, Arkansas State. Why in the middle of the season is Big Ten football team playing someone in the Sunbelt. Thanks.

Sometimes Homecoming matters, and sometimes it doesn't. As it happens, this week there's one game in particular where the homecoming angle is especially applicable, so thanks for bringing this up.

Homecoming matters a lot to the teams and a team's chance become much more to win in this condition.

more alumni & boosters are in the seats that game. The students are all drunk & fired up at 8:00am, its motivation to try harder, but it doesnt always work out. The visiting team is usually inferior smaller school. They get pumped to take the spotlight playing a big school anyway, & they would love nothing more than to make a splash at their homecoming, so I think its equally motivating for both squads

Oklahoma State for instance scheduled Nebraska their toughest game of the year arguably as their homecoming. Tons of other teams do the same.

Partying is a great motivation in College Football. Half the reason why home field advantage is so big, especially for a night game.

it could mean more pressure on the home team making them more apt to choke
