Been listening to some great music, and in a very reflective mood. You ever stop to think about life in the truest sense? Most everything we do is trivial. We work, we watch games, take care of responsibilities. Repeat week after week. All of sudden, a year has past us by. And then another year. And then one day we have no years left. Isn't there more to this life? Is this all there is?
The solution is outsourcing. Outsource watching games to people with no life. Outsource your trivial responsibilities to poor people willing to do them for little money. Now, once you've got the time to spare, it is up to you to shoot for that dream you always had. If you got it, you'll get it. Sure, not everyone can be Einstein or LeBron, whatever rocks your bot. The least anyone can do is to make/adopt some babies and to make them happy and to make sure they know how much you love them. Realizing how great it is to be blessed to have an opportunity to make your family happy is the first step a boy makes on his way away from me-me-me kiddie thinking to becoming a man. So, call your mom first and good luck with the rest.

I felt like this before....but then we had our first child. I truly believe the secret to a happy, fulfilling life is having a kid. Not just fathering one....but raising a child. I honestly don't believe there was a bigger, selfish prick than I was before my little girl came along. Changes your whole life. If it doesn't.....then you truly are a worthless piece of crap. I'm not saying its always easy and great...its surely not. But it makes you realize what its all about. As far as everything being so much better back in the day....I wouldn't know. But i do know that every generation longs for the one before. I imagine its more selective memory than anything. Would you really prefer getting a root canal back in the 50's compared to today? Progress has its price, no doubt. But I don't feel sorry for my kid growing up now....I feel excited for the opportunities she has. As Doc Halliday said..."there's no such thing as a normal life. There's just life."
